I mean, the normal way to use Standard Clones with Legendaries is good ol' Mirror Box, but this is pretty effective and goofy

My main method of cloning legends is to just mutate on top of them with nonlegend mutate creatures, but this does have some nice uses just getting extra etb triggers.

Exiling isn't a death trigger. It never died, it just ceased to exist. So most of the first commanders they mentioned are invalid

the token created will legend rule as a state-based action before the exile trigger can exile it, causing the token to die.

Aye, as folks have mentioned, the legend rule causes a sacrifice so it does work. And hey, those were the commanders I cribbed from the EDHREC page, the main point of the video was the Omos and Tanazirs of the world

@@scrap-ironsteve9605 technically not a Sacrifice, but yes. anything that triggers "whenever you sacrifice [X]" won't trigger. They're just put into the graveyard as a state-based action.

y'know what this card needs? Mutate. Slap a Gemrazer on this for trample and reach. Vulpikeet grants flying. Cubwarden gives lifelink. If you've got access to a third color even more options open up. Nethroi adds lifelink AND deathtouch to the mix while also reanimating other creatures, and allows for access to menace, deathtouch, and more flying in your mutate suite. and all this because mutated traits are carried over to tokens.

I got him out in my Karador mutate deck then mutated a Sawtusk Demolisher on top of him. Warped the game completely around dealing with him.

@@scrap-ironsteve9605 I mean, nothing stopping you from having multiple mutate decks. Currently working on my 4th: Surgeon Commander (5c), Nethroi, Cayth, and now Esix. Cayth and Esix because making token copies of what was once a legendary creature but isn't any more due to mutating on top of it causes problems. For instance: Mutate on top of Brudiclad, make a token copy, and now all your not-Brudiclads can turn your tokens into copies of themselves. Possibly as 7/7 leviathans with haste. Mutating on top of Peregrine Took in Esix means that when you make your first token each turn you can make that token + a Food, then instead make two more Tooks... who now bump up the extra Food to +3. So your next first token will make 4 Tooks. and that's only if you're making one token. a Myr Battlesphere drops 6 Tooks into play for +7 Foods on every token maker. and all this because Mutate. I love this mechanic so much.

I've built a Bristly Bill commander deck, and I do also refuse to play Craterhoof. Also running Surrak in it as well as kodama of the west tree, dusk crawler, ulvenwald oddity, etc etc. Might consider playing w this guy :P

I used her in my Anowan deck as she gives you extra advantage as your guys are 80% unlockable so you get that initiative back all the time and then once you finish that dungeon she gives a huge bonus to an unblockable dude or gives a huge buff to the unblockable guys.

Anything with an unwinding clock or wilderness reclamation setup also just untaps the mana at the end step. Who needs an untap?

Unwinding Clock wouldn't work because it's specifically on the other's players untap steps that it happens. Wilderness Reclamation absolutely works though

Are you allowed to convoke more than required for the cast? Say, for example, you discount this spell through other means but want to tap it just to protect a specific creature type?

Unfortunately not, no. Convoking taps creatures instead of using mana, so in the same way that you can't cast a spell for extra mana, you can't tap more than required for this

I play it in my Najeela deck, those tokens are extra usefull to pay for it since they are white! So you even cheat on Colored mana pips

It goes great in Damia or anything where you're planning on running cards such as Recycle/Null Profusion where you're skipping your draw anyway.

For 2 mana, it's a strong card. Abundance is considerably stronger though, because even if you don't need the Elfhame sanctuary to hit your land drop, you can still draw a land if you choose not to use the may effect.

It is a may ability. You can choose when to use it. Also green now has plenty of great burst draw to compensate the draw step.

Im putting this in the new Lhurgoyf tribal commander from MH3 Discard your Lhurgoyfs, they get put onto the battlefield free, get buffed, and use any haste enabler (Anger in GY, Bitter Reunion, etc) to swing out with your disgustingly massive army

Great video, really informative. Definitely should put the text just slightly above the card instead of covering the title/mana cost though. I'm gonna pick up a few copies of this card for my cats/monkeys decks, it seems awesome.

Yeah, the mana cost thing was a mistake, I've been playing around with the text positioning and somehow forgot that the mana cost is important. But hey, cheers for the feedback, I'll be mindful of that in future! (Also, yeah, 5 is a lot but I reckon the card is strong and flexible enough to warrant it)
