I went to camp Roosevelt from 72 to 78. I recognize so many of the people in this photo montage (not just the owners/managers). If you know me, please reach out!

HI. I was a camp counselor there for 2 years. 71 and 72. Had the younger kids. One of the owners in the beginning the of video I did recognize. His name is Burt. Head counselor was Steve Damasheck. Not sure of the spelling of last name. Remember the guy who can play anything on the piano? He played all the music for the camp shows. The man down by the lake who lived in a kind of shack. They called him Chesty. I still have some photos from an old polaroid camera. Good times.

Seeing myself in Brigadoon was amazing! Bobby Wolkowitz became an actor at Roosevelt. Then he became Robert Walden, nominated for 3 Emmys as Joe Rossi in LOU GRANT, '77-'1982.

thanks for the post. We used to vacation at the Colonial Inn every August in the mid to late '70's. Every year I would hook up with the same kids and we would have a blast. most of us were from New York and we would go from motel to motel and pool hop, and at night we would hang out on top of the tower that was adjacent to the motel. it had this spiral stairway to the top. we would just sit up there and tell stories all night. all the motels in Sunny Isles are gone, replaced by humongous condos. The area has absolutely no character at all. The Thunderbird and a few others are still hanging tough but are on borrowed time. Sad.

Each gorgeous motel had its own special design/motif...mostly exotic types...The Dunes, The Desert Inn, The Castaways, The Hawaai Isle, The Golden Gate...those were the days...

Hi, My husband and I got to Miami Beach in 1990 and 1992 and we were at the Colonial Inn, so, last year when we went there, my husband enjoyed to show this motel to our sons and was very disapointed to see that all the north of Miami Beach was so diferent as 20 years ago. Maybe you have some pictures or videos from the Colonial as it. If yes, do you have a posibility to send me almost 1, because I don't find anything about it since we moved from Switzerland to Spain for 6 years ago? Thank you.

I went in 73 and 74, it was miserable at first (I was 8/9) and it was the first time I was away from home. But, it was also one of the few happiest times/things of my childhood. I learned to swim, I had my first girl friend (and my first kiss), I got active in sports, Blue Grey war was always too short, I heard my first gun shot (a starter pistol for races) in an enclosed cabin, lol, etc. When it was time to leave, I didn't want the summer to end. I'll always think fondly of Camp Roosevelt.
