Yeah there’s a gasket on the caseback, it’s already there in the groove on the caseback itself. The crown tube and crown do have gaskets also installed already.

How did you install the chapter ring? Just it inside? On a pictures I saw some adhesive tape on the chapter ring

In some cases the chapter ring can be fitted from underneath without removing the crystal, but usually I have to remove the crystal, press the chapter ring down from the top, then re-fit the crystal. For the newer cases this is the way to do it. If the chapter ring is plastic it can be fitted from underneath still and may need to be secured with some tape too

Great video very informative. Unfortunately, I watched all the way to the end because the single most important thing I wanted to see was how to attach the bezel ring but when it came to that part of the video, it was edited out so I was never able to see how the bezel ring was properly attached. 😢

The bezel itself is fitted at around 32mins - the insert yes I didn’t show but it’s super easy, just attach the double sided tape ring you get with the bezel insert to the bezel first; then peel the top and put the bezel insert on, it doesn’t matter what position in this type of bezel as there’s no clicks. I show it on my SSK003 Lumed Pepsi bezel video tutorial too

It's a great watch. I bought it almost 4 years ago and love it. The double-deck dial is awesome. It adds a lot of depth and a 3D look. I swapped the 7S36 movement for an NH36 almost immediately. It's a straightforward swap - no additional tools are needed, and it makes the watch complete. Adding a double-domed sapphire crystal is still on my to-do list - I can't wait. Whether you see the watch up close or from a distance, you can't tell the price, and it looks solid on the wrist with the right strap. As a wedding photographer, I've seen lots of high-end watches, including the PP Nautilus. But when you compare it to the SNZG15, it's hard to justify the x100 price tag. Maybe it's just for the brand, status, and the finish of the movement if you ever look inside. But your president proved otherwise! The funny thing is, the more time this watch spends on the wrist, the more accurate it becomes. The case is unique - fingerprints won't ever bother you! Its steel might not be the right choice for someone who prefers a bracelet. To each their own.

First check its fully wound and you are moving enough to keep it wound fully, your watch is technically in Seiko’s specification, but it would be best to have a watchmaker check the regulation - this can be done cheaply at any small watch repair shop. You can also check to see how to regulate the watch yourself but you’ll need a Timegrapher - I’ll post a video of this soon too.

The Seiko 4R36 is accurate to +/- 30s per day as standard, but, usually when I make watches and run tests, I see closer to +/- 10s in reality

It can but you’d need to change the case to an SKX type aftermarket case, this would mean changing many others parts too but you would get the screw down crown and clicking bezel.

@@M1KEEC if you’re using the case from the video any SKX007 caseback will fit. If you’re using the standard SSK001 case then you’ll need to find a 7s26 caseback, it has shorter threads

The Sistem51 movement is developed by ETA and has an excellent power reserve and acceptable accuracy. The Sistem51 movement has a maintenance-free service life of 20 years and it is actually servicable (you can remove it and change the movement). The watch case is not made of plastic but of a combination of ceramic and resin which makes the case very robust. Also Tissot also sells many mechanical watches with unserviceable movements. It's not unique to this watch.

Your op 39 is fantastic as well! One benefit to having a luxury watch is access to their authorized service centers. From someone who wears their watches hard, rest assured they can always be serviced/repaired with zero evidence of damage. Cheers

I'm sure I'll need an adapter ring to get the crown depth correct, but I'm concerned about there being a gap between the dial and the chapter ring. Do you foresee any issues fitting that movement in an skx case?

I can’t say about the GMT movement as the one on the video is the only one I’ve tried, but I’d be trying to use the same SKX/Miyota case as I don’t think it’s possible to fit the Miyota movement in a regular SKX case due to the crown depth

How did you change the crown position of the watch from 3.8 to 3 in the same movement?

It just depends on the day-wheel for the movement, you can get day wheels for 4 Oclock or 3 Oclock crowns so the day-date lines up on either. The dial feet are cut then it’s stuck down to the movement in the new position - as I the video
