I have the 2019 SE and agree with everything you said. I also notice you have a wind deflector and I did similar because even with the bigger OEM shield, no matter what height I positioned it there was still buffering. Once I added the deflector and through trial and error worked out the optimum height and angle all was good. Great Vid 😉👍

Gday mate. I just bought a new Versys 1000 2 weeks ago. The KQS light is factory set at 4750rpm for the 1st 1000km. What rpm do you recommend changing it to after the 1st service? Or can it be set to anything, and be used anytime above about 3000rpm to be smooth?
@motoant8 ай бұрын
G'day mate. Great purchase, I think you'll be super happy with your new bike! I found the smoothest to be above 6000 rpm going up in gears 3-4-5-6 and 4000-4500 going down. If I change up lower than 5500rpm on my bike, I notice more of a clunk which apparently isn't that good on your gearbox so I have set my light to flash at 6000rpm. Some riders report having to have their gearboxes repaired after about 30,000 kms if they use the KQS frequently at lower rpm's or in lower gears. I don't use the KQS around town, only for sporty "spirited" riding on the highway. I'm still learning though. Safe riding!

I have the 2021 so the same bike, I agree it is very responsive but a lot of people will like that about it, the engine breaking is excellent which should be a positive as this bike stops better than most I have ridden, I agree it can be touchy at corners and round-abouts because of how touchy / responsive it is, but that is easily dealt with some clutch control, I have had to become a lot better at clutch control because of this bike. All that said, id like to rike my bike with the plug installed to see the difference, but I hate playing with fiddly stuff like your install video showed it to be, id likely snap the plug or something.
@motoant8 ай бұрын
Yes, you have to use the clutch to smooth out the throttle response but shouldn't have to. I have a Yamaha XT660R with quicker acceleration in first gear but it is way smoother and you don't need to feather the clutch. I traded in the 650 for a Versys 1000 S and it is less jerky than the 650. The Boosterplug isn't difficult to fit and it does smooth the throttle response a little bit. I was even getting the occasional stall and backfiring as well and it helped with that as well.

Peoples opinions may vary of course, and that's their right. Doesn't mean they are right or I am right. Imagine a circle with this Kwak induction noise at the centre, now draw a circle around that noise. Everyone will sit a different point on that circle and have a different viewpoint. The trick is just enjoy your viewpoint and don't try and force it on others. And vice versa. Personally I love that sound, just love it. I watched it a few times. Top work mate.

@motoant Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input. I tried everything when I first bought it. As I mentioned in the video, it's because of Euro 5 emissions rule. Idle is too lean at idle so when you open the throttle you increase the revs but also the amount of fuel/air ratio. MY19 model I think is the first of Euro 5.

Tnx for sharing, enjoy watching your rides, though i can't hear or feel the Versys im familiare to, my -18, top spec.
