@asiaeatsandstreetbeats I absolutely love trains. If you're still in Japan, you might want to check out The Sunrise Express. It looks costly, but I would love to ride something like that while taking a cozy nap 🫣😂

Pickled foods are great for your gut biome. Like Korean kimchi, but the Japanese also have many pickled foods.

I was just in Scotland and Norway recently and thought the same thing. It doesnt have to be an incredible art piece or even historic - but when something is done intentionally dont undo it or scratch holes in it.

I think graffiti is quite lovely
@ma2perdue27 күн бұрын
You missed the point. Graffiti is its own art, but to put it over another piece of art is to shout in a theater. When you respect a piece of art leave it a little white space buffer - a blank wall surrounding - so that the peripheral vision can be empty and the emotion in the art can come through

Sickening to see the woke nonsense spreading into Japan. I really hope they see this as a problem soon enough to stop it while they can.

so instead of traveling - you go to restaurants -- what a life hack!! ;-) Arigato gozaimas!
@asiaeatsandstreetbeats4 ай бұрын
Yes, that’s right. Go to the restaurants very early in Japan to avoid long lines. You got it :)

Just three comments: - Japanese read left to right -- or top to bottom, starting on the right. - The "trash can" next to vending machines is usually a recycle bin for the cans and bottles. Usually NOT a trash can. - You're not supposed to eat while walking (with the exception of ice cream...) -- but there's no rule that you should drink your drink next to the vending machine. Stepping to the side when taking the bottle out from your backpack to take a sip should be fine.

Japan is a place truly driven by its culture. Everything unfolds from there. To go there without knowing or caring about the way of life just subtracts a great deal from the experience and makes things difficult for residents. Hopefully the predatory Instagram popularity will pass and the yen will get stronger again. Its not a casual place to visit out of apparent popularity and it isn't a fit for everyone. But as I said, if you are interested in the culture it is a deeply cool place to visit.

Japan is a VERY xenophobic nation. They HATE foreigners, tourists, and KOREANS especially! There's a reason it's called the hermit kingdom. They still worship monarchy and oppose modern political institutions. Bizarre world.
@shawnbell63924 ай бұрын
That is one opinion , I have had only positive experiences in Japan and I also dislike tourists where I live.
@janajoujan76584 ай бұрын
Hahaha. This is funny considering when in Canada, Japanese tourists are the rudest, most inconsiderate, tourists leaving their trash everywhere and public washrooms FILTHY after they use them. Here's a deal, you stay home and we will too.

japan generates huge vast quantities of plastic trash...plastic wrapping of tiny individual food bits and nicnacs of all kinds...all plastic right into the dumpster....everything about japan is either live fish cutting or dead plastic wrappers
