Wonderful to hear locals today telling us about the local heroes who helped in the fight for independence. Well done 👍

18:57 I watched a video of the Carrowkennedy ambush 75th anniversary and it mentions the convoy were returning from Leenane after terrorizing the Wallaces and in this video it says they were heading from Westport before getting ambushed?

In the Video Charlie explains very well that the British came from Leenaun's direction

@@liamog03 How difficult would it have been to provide diversity and inclusion to ensure truth of the situation - any situation for that matter. The sinews of community are diversity and inclusion. A poor man's hagiographer is a bigot. My point was to not spark up some discourse/debate in KZbin's comment section because the discourse/debate is going on in the newspapers for decades . My point was the video lacked the national discourse of diversity and inclusion, to consider and have in mind all narratives and let the audience decide. It little too late to offer a different perspective since the video has been long published. So anyways, good luck with your future endeavours. 😁👍

My family history is leading me in strange directions, and whilst researching Louisburgh, birthplace of my Granddad, John Joseph Gibbons, I came across your video. This episode is relayed by yourselves with such feeling, and compassion, that I had tears in my eyes by the end. I need to know more as I admit to being ignorant of so much Irish History :( . Thank you so much for telling this story . Love and blessings to you all xxx

A wonderful walking tour down Main Street and then Bridge Street. Reminds me of my many visits when I would walk the same route, except I would likely have stopped in at the Gala for coffee, and again at McNamara's Bar for a cup of tea. Lovely to see al the shop fronts and town houses so well cared for. Brilliant narration, looking forward to more of the same!
