@ArizonaTreks23 күн бұрын
Yes, if you reserve a site. I camped with only a tent when I was there. There are some sites, like the one i reserved, that are “Tent Only” walk in sites (it’s a short walk). I think you can also tent camp at the RV sites, but you’ll be charged the RV rate (which is more than the tent only rate.”

Back in the mid to late 70's I back packed thru the superstitions with a group from my Jr high school, 3 days, I remember it was like 22 miles 18 miles and the last day 21 miles, the distances is what I remember, but probably wrong. But the first day was all up hill the 2nd day basically flat ground the third day all down hill, came out at the lake, one of my fondest memories in life, although my 14 pound pack by the end of day one weighed about 100 pounds, at least that's the way it seemed, I would love to be able to do the trip again,. We trained for about 6 months before going, we would go on 10 and 15 plus mile trips, about every other weekend, 7th grade in the phoenix area was way different back then,

I’m not a hiker really, I just took the trail that started at the Broadway entrance. I didn’t have to go through the entrance although it was free for me (I’m old). It took me about 45 minutes. Can’t remember the name of it. It was so beautiful until it got too hot!

Thank you for the positive feedback! You'll have a great time at Monument Valley View Campground. Hiking the Wildcat Trail as the sun was coming up in the morning was awesome--no one else was on the trail yet. The only thing I'd do different is pay for a guided Jeep tour instead of driving my own vehicle--that road is really rough.

Weavers Needle is a great hike with beautiful views. We actually climbed the Needle in the 80s. The Superstitions are a great place to visit. Over the decades I’ve been fortunate enough to hike pretty much every trail in the range. With the current rain we’re thinking about doing Flatiron, the rain leaves waterfalls flowing in the area. Makes a tough hike even tougher though. Happy Hiking!
