Anyone ever tell you that you look just like Johnny Benchpress?

You know what I’m doing for calves? Well, I’m incline walking for warm-up and then jump-rope with abs after the weights workout. The jump-rope does the forearms too!!
@IronClinicGym5 күн бұрын
Incline walking is BRUTAL! Kudos for that, mate. Jump rope is also an awesome way to exercise them 💪🏼
@lennybogart4 күн бұрын
@ thanks bro!! I forgot to bring my jump-rope so I didn’t do that part, just the rest. I forgot to mention that I do a lot of yoga too and the downward dog pose really does the calf muscles!

shame its not more affordable, could be a staple home gym accessory add on, but like you said, personally id just pick up a stand alone machine off of marketplace for HALF the price (i know i don't save any space but $200.. with a discount.. c'mon) also, first video Ive seen of yours, look forward to more!
@IronClinicGym5 күн бұрын
Totally understand the hesitation! The space you save is really an understatement for some home gym owners, and as far as J-Cups of any kind go (especially of this exceptional build quality!) $200 is about right in my book. BUT! I know it's not for everyone, and the best part of making a home gym is making it *yours* 😊 Thanks for the kind words, mate! Look forward to seeing you back here 💪🏼

Appreciate the feedback and agree 100%. We've been working on new manufacturing approaches to drive cost down. Current cost is legitimately the result of manufacturing in the US versus overseas. Our margins with the laser cutter and plate steel are tight. Yes, we'd save 4x going with China for example (maybe 2x if you factor in future Trump tariffs). Just want you to know we're not gouging for profit. Btw, with a calf stand, you're missing out on the free weight advantage, not just lost space. Thanks again,

$199? It shows up as $290 for me on the site. At around $180 after discount it was a maybe for me. $290 is too rich for me.
@U4CFitness5 күн бұрын
Oh wow, thanks for pointing it out. That's definitely a bug. Cost with Iron Clinic discount should be $179.

Awesome review, BJ!🔥🔥 Great editing, informative and entertaining. Loved the bowling bumper metaphor. Btw, regarding the HDPE pads, we are working with a new plastics manufacturer and will happily send a replacement set of UHMW pads to any customer who makes a request. For what it's worth to your audience, I've been using a Rogue Ohio bar with mine for about two years. No depth in wear, only scuff marks after all that time. Thanks again!

Great video, this definitely something I ask myself...I think acknowledging that you may not be pushing yourself as hard as you can on all exercises is actually a good place to be....if that makes sense 😂

Knowing that consistency is a more load bearing pillar than optimization, I like to think of periods of busyness, low motivation, or low energy as a natural deload. I take these moments in stride knowing this too shall pass.
@IronClinicGym14 күн бұрын
What great insight - this is a great way to think about it all. Many people see having or needing to take a day away from the gym (planned or unplanned) as a failure point, a downfall, but if there is anything I've learned in all this time it is that consistency is what lays off, but taking a day or three for ourselves when our body and life is telling us we need it will *not* ruin anything (let alone everything). And those workouts after you've been away for however long are some of the best 💪🏼

Too bad the video is almost worthless because it was shot against a black cloth type background without proper lighting so the viewer can actually see the working mechanism a little bit more clearly .. Otherwise certainly a long winded overview of the history of the world type demo... So it goes...
@IronClinicGym14 күн бұрын
Good and fair feedback, mate 💪🏼 Black is definitely not ideal for gym equipment. I'm working on some things to spruce the place up a bit, and better backgrounds is a huge part of it :) Hope you stay tuned to see it through

Great stuff as always. My all time favorite is pull ups, but recently I've lucked into picking up the titan chest-supported row machine for super cheap second hand, and it's done wonders. I've managed to get parts of my back to absolute failure I never could before. There's something special about finding a movement or machine that just clicks with you.

Isn't that amazing? It's truly crazy what a chest support can do for back movements, too.

Persistence is key to a life where you live in the Truth. What's the Truth? The Truth is Jesus. We will fail and fail and most people give up and end up becoming set in a certain bad behavior pattern they accept as the only Truth they know. We will fail and fail and perfection will not be our goal, it will be persistence in living a life close to Jesus.

Ha! Great question - I'm estimating about 200-250 lbs in 25 lb (standard) plates. That would be nuts though.

Really enjoying the videos and especially this one at the moment, since Im constantly looking at my space to maximise the efficiency. One area is loadable dumbbells that never cease to give me issues. What brand are you using? That screw in plate to lock everything looks leagues better than the thread and bolt system I use.
@IronClinicGym2 ай бұрын
Sorry I missed this mate! They are called Baadass dumbbells. No, that isn't a typo lol. Very nice dumbbells, but still a bit of work to load weight on and off. I can't wait to have a full set of dumbbells one day.

Great job getting the work in! I have a tendency to overthink some tasks. I try to remember that, while 99% perfect takes a huge amount of effort, usually doing 90% goes way faster. Trying your best without obsessing on perfection.

One step at a time! Everyone is different with this. I'm a very habitual person and I really, really enjoy my habits. They give me comfort and calm. But when you start feeling like that habit isn't giving you the same positive feelings it might be time to look for change. I hope you find it!

My wife and I have found the best place to start is by finding what I call "unneeded calories". We all have foods that are really important to us and would be really hard to give up, but we also have so many calories that we eat that don't add any happiness to our lives it's just habit. For me it was pop and bread. Diet pop or seltzers are perfectly fine for me, and I like lettuce wraps just as much as sandwiches. So switching those things out isn't even a diet for me. Like it doesn't impact my happiness whatsoever and therefore it doesn't mentally tax me. My wife however loves bread so cutting that out would be massively difficult. She started with other things that were "unneeded" in her diet. It's a great starting point in my opinion.
