@@jameshunt1221 Yeah I definitely see the old growth at the 3:00 part of the video. I was more curious about how extensive the old growth is, does the old growth continue on the way to hope lake? Looks like the trees start getting smaller and the trail goes into more of a subalpine zone past mig lake.

Beautiful forest hiking! The salmonberries sure look refreshing! Yikes, we’ve eaten a few bugs recently too- I was breathing so hard with my mouth open, I had to tell myself - close your mouth… o man, we don’t like horseflies either. Fortunately we haven’t seen many yet this summer- mostly just mosquitos. Thanks for sharing your hike!! - 😄👍👍🌲🌲

Your last videos have been spectacular. Beautiful views. Are u using same camera as in prior videos? Was the air cooler at the higher elevation? Did you see any wildlife? How is the bear population in those areas? Would you consider providing more information about the trails (location) helpful to people interested in visiting. Thank you

Thank you for the continued videos. I really like your content as you show the forest and old growth, many videos do not and just show mountain views. I was wondering if you can help me out with a question too. I was planning to backpack on a trail off hwy 2 in early July. The trail is surprise creek to surprise and glacier lakes. I tried leaving a voicemail with the skykomish ranger station, but have not gotten a call back. I am just wondering what the snow is currently like in your area and at what elevation would I get into deep snow?

The trees with the ashy gray silver colored bark are pacific silver fir. I took tree idenitification classes in college years ago, but have continued to identify trees and am always on the lookout for old growth and unique trees. Both pacific silver fir and western hemlock are very shade tolerant trees, meanwhile douglas fir grows in a variety of environments.
