This so resonates with me. My husband & I have lived together in Los Angeles for 23 years and during this time I have built a very successful, busy & highly recommended photography business. When things were shut down during covid, I realized how unhappy I actually was with my life. From the outside our lives look so exciting - we have the money to travel & frequent all the pricey trendy spots in LA. But it started to feel empty once it was all locked down. I realized I had no desire to go back to it when things opened back up. So...we bought a home in Edmond, Oklahoma. We still have the house in LA, but I no longer even want to travel back and forth. We've decided to rent it out and be in Oklahoma full time. It is a different world there. We love it. I open my front door to an enormous prairie, a large pond with fish, wild quail, geese, deer, & tons of other critters. I take long walks in the woods just outside my door. I can be in the city within about 7 minutes, which is perfect. There are more restaurants & bakeries & farmers markets than I'll ever have time to visit. The best part is the people. Oklahomans are a special breed - so so so kind, friendly, helpful & always smiling. My church is phenomenal. LA can't hold a candle to the slice of heaven we have found in the Mdwest.
