Using the excuse that "Star Wars is for kids" is played out. Star Wars worked for so many years because its universal. EVERYONE relates to it. Current SW, besides Mando, has been a product of it's time instead of timeless. People will do all types of gymnastics to defend current Lucasfilm instead of actually identifying the major problem, which is the franchise has been subpar for a very long time now. It started with the sequels and continued from there besides a few gems. Star Wars is in a terrible state, and will continue to be until people are held accountable and things actually change for the better. Also, just because something is geared towards kids doesn't mean it needs to be a crap show or movie. Toy Story, Moana, Lion King, etc are all geared towards "kids" but everyone can relate to it because its quality
