Openttd is older than that if you look up ttd (the non open version)you get the original release date of 1994 you have look up transport tycoon deluxe though

Well, the game OTTD is based upon is older, but OTTD itself isn't if we are being 100% accurate

@@a-person_0 Nope, legally speaking if whoever owns the copyright for TTD were to send a cease and desist to OTTD devs they'd have to shut down and pull the game. The thing is, even Spiff (Who has stated he would buy the IP if he could in order to keep OTTD up) isn't sure who owns it, so OTTD kinda just carries on because no one has told them they can't yet (And chances are the people who could tell them to stop aren't aware they even own the IP in the first place lol). (This is all off the top of my head, so sorry if I've misremembered something, but the gist still stands)
