The TTC system it’s just on the new grapple saw or I can adjust on mine , I have the 225 effer and 035
@ForestCentreAU2 ай бұрын
Hi Frank, it may be possible to upgrade an existing GMT grapple saw to add the new TTC rotator, link and jib nose package. Best to get in touch with your dealer - presumably Altec equipment :)

The logs in the top layer aren't secured at all, the lashing arms aren't even touching the logs.
@ForestCentreAU Жыл бұрын
Load form is just as important as load restraint as we've seen in industry tests here in Australia 👍. A bay of logs needs to be loaded neatly with consideration for form, flare and also crowning of the top so that the lashings (whether they be conventional straps or chains, or here the Com90 arms) clamp down effectively on the top layer 😀

Thanks, very interesting. Can You please explain why the trailer is extendable instead being equipped with Tydraul (sliding timber bunks, that should be lighter)
@ForestCentreAU3 жыл бұрын
Here in Australia we have limits for certain heavy vehicle combinations and lengths - some of which are only permitted to travel on identified routes. With the trailer shortened this truck can travel empty on 'General access' routes, sometimes meaning a shorter return journey to the forest.

Cutting diameter? Weight?
@ForestCentreAU3 жыл бұрын
Single-cut capacity is up to 400mm diameter on the GMT035TTC, and up to 500mm on the larger GMT050TTC felling grapple. Double cutting of trunk sections is also possible; up to 600mm and 720mm respectively for the two models. Weight varies depending on the exact configuration (different mounts for excavator, telehandler or truck crane). For the GMT035TTC weight starts at 370kg including grapple saw, rotator, TTC link and jib head. The combo shown in this particular video includes a telehandler jib, adding around +200kg.

Built for a purpose, not an ego. Length restrictions dictate set-up, and self loaders are popular where logs are stockpiled and machinery gets moved on. It's not rocket science.

its just a quad dog FFS....been used for years in tasmania......just because it now has a tri group and not tandem does not make it NEW
@ForestCentreAU7 жыл бұрын
This configuration has been used for years elsewhere in the world and definitely isn't a 'NEW' idea - although as far as we're aware this is the only 5 axle extendable self-loader in Australia. One of the main benefits is the ability to take full loads or clean up any odd small stacks from around the forest at any time without relying on a forwarder or loader to be available. Payload can be increased to 41.5 ton by detaching the crane - performed in about 5 minutes.
