In my understanding, the funding is a privilege provided by the government for their own citizens who are members of any religious group that is registered in that country. The funds is given individually or every citizen in some countries in Western Europe. Swedish or Norwegian citizens who are members of the JWs may have applied because that is in accordance with their law but it does not mean that the organization itself is the one who demanded that they should be given funding. The Swedish and Norwegian citizens who are members of the JWs are not solely representing the entire JWs organization. If they were approved then by the government because they are citizens who meet the criterias of what is prescribed in the law. If government policies change and citizens who are members of JWs are no longer qualified for government funding that will not be an issue of church operation because the JWs operation did not rely on that funding especially if they are not complaining or insisting that they should be given funds or charity funds from the government. One of the reasons is that they are politically neutral, do not vote and do not join the military to fight in any war for national interest. Just a note...Jehovah's Witnesses didn't believe in disfellowshipping at the time of the holocaust. Jehovah's Witness children aren't deprived for not celebrating birthdays and Christmas; rather, they are liberated from the bovine mentality forced on society that they have to always go along with the crowd. The same with gay rights: homosexuals already have the same rights as anybody else, but what about the rights of others who want to protect themselves from the normalisation of perverted sexual conduct? Shouldn't they also be allowed to do that?
