The peak of thrash metal solo art. To me what is amazing in these solos - besides the creativity and insane technique - is his tone, so unique, nuanced, so rich when compared to other metal guitarists'. It shocked me as a kid and still does now.

As a drummer who also knows how to play guitar, particularly rhythm, the way Marty drifts in and out of the beat is impeccable. I can catch the beat, but then he totally leaves it and plays something face melting and seemingly distraught, only to lock right back into time. Simply remarkable!

So real talk, I used to post on the Megadeth fan board back when it still existed and I was a teenager. Many people on that board thought Lucretia was the most unforgettable song on the album. I'm SO happy that time has told them to fuck off lmao

Marty was a main influence on the success os Rust in Peace. I think that mustaine's lead parts are too sloppy and a big dowgrade comparing to peace sells, that, in my opinion, is the best of mustaine guitar work.

Enjoyable dip into the ocean of Michael Brecker. Love all his work with Billy Cobham. A funky thide of sings is underrated. Some Skunk Funk , written by Randy, is one of my favourite tracks although I think maybe Larry Schneider played the sax solo. Another favourite is Michael’s solo on the haunting Heather from Crosswinds. A most informative show. Off now to plat that 17 minute Zappa track.

Anybody else hear in 00:20 to 00:21 that after the 24th fret bend to that high G that the ending arpeggio is a different track spliced together? Tear me apart for it but I swear to god that the guitar tone is slightly different for that last arpeggio. SPLICED!!!!!
@butterblood3 ай бұрын
Could definitely be an edit
@Incog2k63 ай бұрын
Nah, you're right, it's two tracks spliced together. However, it's probably not because Marty couldn't play that particular solo in 1 take or so. Yeah, definitely NOT 😂. Most probably, Marty played a different ending lick originally, was dissatisfied, and had another one (the final version we all know) edited in. Besides, it's not the first time that guitarists "cheat" like that. More solos or rhythm guitar tracks are "Frankenstein" creations than you'd think.
