Why have none of the SotF 'best base location' videos ever mentioned where I tend to build - on the cliff shelf above the small lake at coordinates -811 169 -280 (to teleport there easily open the dev console and type 'gotocoords' followed by the 3 numbers above). It's effectively accessible only from a narrow path in one direction so easy to defend from cannibals even in early game with a couple of flyswatter traps. Not massively roomy but plenty of space for a decent log cabin and more. The lake freezes in winter but the stream always has running water. A few nearby tracks means a constant source of Greg stew ingredients and bones. Tell me I'm wrong!!! 😜

Cheers! There's not much of a view but that's less important than being massacred by cannibals in the early game ... also you're only 5-10 mins from several important early locations for the modern axe, a few camps with cooking pots and the first bunker with a 3D printer accessible. Oh, and there's a crashed helicopter just across the lake which respawns a rope and a few 9mm rounds on every login.

i played when the game first came out EA many years ago... now back i wanted to build little better spot. so far i like first location other than no water-fishing. i know u can fish, but i forget how water works in the game. i want to say water is non issue.... but maybe u use it for farming... i def look into it before i play much more to help setup a base local

me & my buddys went up on a big snowy mountain and jumped with gliders kelvin never came down.. its been a few days we go up tonight & his markers there but no kelvin no body so they should fix these glitches or make it to where we can companions back after death

Boats would be a huge one. I would love to make some harbour-style bases. Another obvious one would be the drone. Better AI for Kelvin. I would welcome anything, however!
