Very interesting. Seems like a nice vacation destination. Who knows whether they speak Igbo language?
@timlally63168 күн бұрын
@@Max610nel I don’t know if they speak Igbo there but it is my understanding that they speak the Bubi language and some Fang as well, though most of the Fang speakers live in Río Muni and not on Bioko

Dude I'm from park ridge. Went to Maine south 06. My an my roommate have this song on a CD. We've been wanting to know who made this.
@timlally631621 күн бұрын
Hey man. I’m actually from Edison Park but went to Loyola (also class of 06) and met a buddy there from Park Ridge who told me about this song. Think I must’ve downloaded it from Limewire or somethin like that back in the day and it’s been on my iPod nano ever since then. Recently thought it was time to resurrect it n make it publicly available again. I just reached out to that same buddy who introduced me to the song hoping he could shed some light on its origin, but he unfortunately told me he has no idea who made the song.

Hi Leslie, not sure how it is in August but I liked September. I like cooler temps in general and bugs were not an issue

I went last year and enjoy watching videos of other people’s trips - this is one of the very best I’ve seen - why? Because you haven’t added music or a commentary, just audio straight out of the camera - a much better feeling for what it’s like to visit this place - great stuff, well done.
@timlally63166 ай бұрын
Thanks for saying so. Whereas I have added music to some of my videos in the past, I’ve come to prefer a more raw and less over-produced feel when showing the places I’ve been. And as far as commentary goes - who really cares what I have to say about the penguins and the icebergs? The beautiful surroundings speak for themselves

Awesome video, I was wondering if you had any advice about the weather. You mention you went in September, but did you look into/hear about March and April treks and the differential in weather conditions? Im trying to plan a march trip and struggling to figure out if I'd be snowshoeing or backpacking... Thanks so much!

Hey, thanks for checking out the video. I don’t have any personal experience but remember reading and article on Medium by a dude named Simon Tang who did it in the early spring and it was still all frozen. Not sure if links show up in the comments, but his story is here… medium.com/6-months-6-men/ops-arctic-fox-6m²-phase-charlie-explorer-86714f739c40

Expect lakes to be frozen in March and into April. Snow cover thins out the further east you go. Temps can drop to -40C or below in March, warmer at the Sisimiut end.

Also, was it essential to carry a tent and camp gas as a backup?
@timlally63169 ай бұрын
Pretty soggy feet for the whole hike. I did carry a tent. I slept in my tent for three nights and the huts for three nights. Camp gas is essential if you want hot meals. I did not. I just ate protein bars, tuna and MREs

Many thanks for the video. Walked the trail in Sept 22. Many happy memories.
As a "glacier" from Norway, I am so happy to see this documented. Greenland is much more than the ice sheet that defines it (pretty much the area of the entire nation of Sweden, the fifth largest nation of Europe is not covered by "me")

great video. in this film, looks Sarhad is the trekking end point. I checked the google maps, Sarhad is the middle point of the whole Wakhan Corridor. what reason behind to prevent you to keep walk th rest journey? is it no village ahead of that or no person area or military area? I am curious of that, thanks
@stevel58068 ай бұрын
no villages after Sarhad other than the Kyrgyz settlements (some people called them small villages), there is actually a dirt road you can drive from Sarhad to Bozai Gumbaz but it's only accessible in Summer, check out a recent video by Emran Wadan "We meet FORGOTTEN PEOPLE of Afghanistan | OVERLAND AFGHANISTAN | LAST FRONTIER | part 3".

Great video Tim! I'm looking into doing this hike in 2 weeks. I saw that parts of the hike follow some kind of (dirt) road. Did cars pass you by? I'm worried that the addition of roads makes this less of a "untouched" experience. Thoughts? Thanks again for the video!
@timlally6316 Жыл бұрын
Hey Karl, how’s it goin? I think I saw like 2 cars on that road the whole time except near Cocoyo where you see them more often because the people were driving between the town and the fields where they were planting seeds for the upcoming spring. It is definitely less “untouched” since the introduction of the road 5-10 years ago. People now make their houses out of bricks from the city instead of stone and thatched roofs from local plants. The road has also facilitated the construction of cell towers in the area where no one had a phone five years ago. The road can be ugly at times but was less upsetting for me than for my guide who’d been hiking in the area for more than 30 years and would get really sad reminiscing about how many groups of tourists from all over the world that he’d taken through these mountains when they remained untouched. For a more detailed account I did of the hike, you can check out this link… americasfinestambassador.com/the-world-in-photos/circuito-illampu/

Hi. I am Branko Lazić, documentary filmmaker. I have an idea to make a documentary film with the question "What are all the things people hang on their car's rearview mirror?". I see that in this yours film you have a great video of what your companions put on the rearview mirror. I have a small request, could I use this 30 second clip of yours in my movie. Of course I would sign you as the author at the end of the film. Thank you very much and have a good trip.
