Does anyone know what the max string size for this trimmer is?

It's recommended for .80 per the website but i dont see why . 90 wouldn't work.

I love my Kobalt 24v Max trimmer...the only issue I had was, when I unboxed it and unfolded it, the two bolts that were preinstalled were already torqued down so the two holes to thread in the hex head bolts didn't line up. No big deal, except that the two preinstalled bolts were security torx head bolts, which I did not have the bits for. Fortunately, my neighbor builds custom AR-15's, so he had the bit I needed to loosen them up and get it put together. I was pretty disappointed with that, but after I got it all together, this trimmer has worked great!

I love Kobalt products too. Last year I bought the bundle with the weed wacker and leaf blower. They both perform awesome. I also purchased the 40-volt lawn mower. It doesn't do bad but in the Florida heat it does use the battery up quick. I bought backup batteries and do not have a problem at all. I'm going to start purchasing Kobalt's tool line soon!

The 2 and 4 Ah (Amp hour) denotations on the batteries are the rating for how many amps the battery will push in a given hour. Ohm rating is simply the resistance of electrical flow from a given load. Think speakers and amplifiers. So 2 different ratings. Not aimed to criticize, but rather to educate. This was a very good video, amd I appreciate all of the help and answers it provided.

Have the impact, driver, sawzall, sander and skill saw. Only have two 2amp and two 1.5 amp. Wonder if thats why it would loosen the wheels off my truck or turn my lawnmower over? Got old sears weed eater with the missing, that thing turn into a 24 inch cut!

Hey Tiny Just bought this set and fully charged the battery and it only lasted a half hour when weed eating is that normal. I thought it would last longer.

No it only last 30min wide open on a full battery. Highly recommend two batteries! Beats paying for gas and mixing it though. I wasn’t thrilled about the short battery life either but I was fed up with putting my small engines in the shop at the beginning of each season because something had broke during the off season. I also have several batteries and charges from the other tools I have of theirs. Which are all also really great dependable pieces of equipment! Hit me up with anymore questions you have? I would love to make an update video for any questions!

Have you tried to do a blade change yet? Much of the reviews I've read have issues related to the blade change, most are not able to remove the blade at all.

I own this set myself and I really like it. Both tools are lite weight and easy to handle. The trimmer isn't powerful enough for any heavy duty work but it's perfect for most home owners who maintain their lawns and powerful enough to handle the ocational over growth do to missed cuts from rain and so on. Same thing for the blower, driveway, patio, walkway, street after cutting. Works just fine. But don't expect to be able to blowout a large lawn of wet leaves. I'm hoping the trimmer will be more reliable then the 18 volt trimmer that I returned to that other home improvement store twice! One more thing, I don't edge with a trimmer. But this trimmer will edge adequately. I recommend a edger for edging for three reasons. One you'll stay I lot cleaner during the process! Second you'll save lots of string. Third your edge will look so much better in a fraction of the time.

Thanks for the feedback! KOBALT truly makes a great product. Just out of curiosity I thought about loaning it to a buddy of mine who does commercial work along with a couple of batteries, see how it holds up and then get a review in with him!
