This one never comes up in discussions of Rory. But it's one of his best songs sung and played with great soul and feeling. That first solo album will always be my favourite. It seemed to be the most personal and closest to who he was.

I usually don't look up the lyrics until the video is complete. In order to get the words to match the music I have to listen repeatedly. I write down what I hear not what the lyrics say. After listening over and over again I'm confident I'm correct. Then as a final check I'll compare with the official lyrics. Not to say I haven't been wrong in the past but that's my process. I like the old TV station card on your avatar!

In my 20's, I worked in hard factories (( I still do but things are not as bad)( In those days, I had Rory blasting from my ( shit) car radio. The tapes were everything. This song was one of my favorites. Rory ruled my days. He still rules my days and I'm so glad. He us the very best. 🌹🇮🇪🦅💓🦋🌻

I don't know if it was the break-up of Taste that affected him but that first solo release had an emotional depth and beauty to it, captured in the cover photograph. This was one of his finest songs from his most personal album. I'll never tire of listening to it.
