You know she has another book, that is for the black man. I believe it was in 1991, interesting to hear the opposite of the coin. Her books are intriguing and are from both perspectives. He was a King and she was on the black woman’s ass in 1991.

I'm a Black man in my mid-60s; I'm 64 now, I was 33 years old in 1993, and already I had been married for 10 years. We just celebrated our 41st anniversary this past November. I think I remember watching that segment of "The Phil Donahue Show", it was so long ago. I have seen the AA's rapid deterioration since that time. Today's conditions in the AA Community are a lot, lot worse than it was even in 1993. The Black Nuclear Family have become a relic of the past, there are many young Black men in prison then even then, now being joined if not surpassed by an ever-growing number of young Black women joining that number. With the number of mass incarcerations, skyrocketing illegitimate births, widespread sexually transmitted diseases, out-of-control homelessness, which most of the homeless population are Black, family breakdown and dysfunction in the AA Community, I'm quite sure that the Blacks who took umbrage at this woman's comments because of her then controversial book may have a different frame of mind, if some of them are still alive. Like the saying goes, time can change your mind.

I found a 2004 paper online by William J Walsh, who I presume is the advocate on this panel. The paper is titled, “Reduced violent behavior following biochemical therapy.”

It’s so amusing that the “recovered” aren’t cured, but rather just helped and evolved. They were given needed therapies, and now moved to a different part of the spectrum. Both my fiancée and I suspect that everyone is on the spectrum somewhat, but at severely varying degrees, much like sexuality or gender.
