I would like to know why the board, and the union have decided to forgo honoring Indigenous People’s day on Oct.11th? It is a federal and state holiday. All for an extra day in the winter, both could’ve been negotiated without picking one or the other. I have been in this district long enough that it has always been a school day off even when it was Columbus Day. It is very telling of how this board and this teachers union view Indigenous children in this district.
