@@MatthewRikard33 i bet it takes time to make a video and post. Maybe a good review on your paint booth, cause I was planning on building my own. But adding up the materials cost it just seems better to purchase one. I did look up M-Tek and the price made me rethink. The materials you use, and anything to do with metal work, body work and paint.

If you can swing it buy a dryer. If not you can run copper tubing up and down about 5ft long for about 5 runs and put a drain valve at the bottom of each run it will help cool the hot air and run to water before it gets to your lines for spraying

Update: bought one, took two drums of 40 grit to strip a large 1973 Gran Torino Fast Back. Averaged around 30 /45 min per panel to bare metal through multiple layers of paint. Great tool, more projects to come!

From viewing this video, this system looks somewhat slow and tedious. Do you think that it could be because your Camaro had LOTS of coats of old paint? I ask because I have two vehicles I want to do and both of them only have their original paint from the factory. Also, I wonder about using this tool after using a paint stripper chemical? What do you think?

Do you think this would be too aggressive to remove a bad rattle can paint job without sanding off the factory paint underneath?
@samg5543
@samg5543 Жыл бұрын
YES! this will go thru the paint almost immediately with a coarse wheel. You can try to use a softer, less aggressive wheel if you want to just remove a couple layers. A DA may actually be better for that though.

Thanks for the video. PPG sells this as a rollable primer. Tech sheet doesn't say anything about spraying it, so good to know I can spray it too. I can see that rolling might be nice for a spot repair, but for any large panels spraying is the way to go.

Why would you sand blast sheet metal and risk the Warpage??? Maybe the trunk and jambs but not the actual body unless you want to spend $10,000 and hours trying to get it straight just cause your too lazy to take the time to actually work and strip the paint correctly.
