Today's audience have no time for alaap. The true test of any artiste is in the alaap, introducing the raag to the audience and gradually building tension. I don't see that happening here. It's just sad. It's like having a feast without appetisers, and going straight to the biryani. You'll only end up with indigestion. Or worse, food poisoning
