That mic you're using in like the first 2 minutes is crispy my g! Is that the Senheiser? I might have to pick one up if that's how it sounds! 2. How bad is the overheating on this camera?. Im from india so the temperature here rises quite a lot in summers
@ToddDeSilva4 ай бұрын
While I’ve never had any overheating issues (I live in Canada) I’ve had it running and filming 4K video for over 2 hours straight and it’s been fine. I find that if you have the screen off the back you should be fine. There is an option to allow the temperature setting to ease up so you can run longer.
@ToddDeSilva4 ай бұрын
I’ve filmed in very light rain…like spitting rain and it’s fine. Dust, might prove a challenge. I have filmed at a track and field event a few times where it’s dusty and it’s been okay, I don’t typically change lenses so it was fine. Keep either one of those rocket blowers or compressed air with you and it would be okay, but if there’s going to be a lot of dust and moisture, get the a6400

How do you lead with slog2 noise in black spots of the image?
@ToddDeSilva5 ай бұрын
I don’t normally shoot in slog2, I tent to use slog3 and cinegamut I believe. As long as I’m exposed okay, I try and just either post the shadows or add some contrast when I’m doing all the colour correction as best I can. With the smaller sensor size sometimes it’s hard to manage the noise. Obviously shooting at a lower iso will help that, but is the log modes were limited to iso 1000 so we have to work with what we have.
@odouglascardoso5 ай бұрын
@ToddDeSilva uhmmm nice, I will try something with slog3 to check de black spots. When I shoot slog2, I discovered if a put my black gamma to wide and leve -7, it worked well. Adding contrast and pushing some shadows the blacks turns to real blacks with no noises. And the highlights stay high without destructions or make needed to preserve. Thanks Todd

Interesting you're at this stage, I'm considering the same move myself. I'd be interested to hear how you find your Resolve journey and learning curve etc. My reason for switching is Adobe isn't supporting Nikon's NRAW format, but Resolve does. I just don't want to learn a new program as I'm so comfortable with Premiere. Those nodes look complicated!
@ToddDeSilva6 ай бұрын
I mean I’m really only one video deep, and it’s been good so far. I haven’t dove into Fusion yet (after effects equivalent), and yeah nodes are scary af 🤣. I’m super comfortable with premiere as well, but the 80/mth is really starting to get to me. I don’t make enough from content creation (yet) to justify the cost anymore. Definitely keeping Lightroom and photoshop though. I will for sure do an update video in the future.
