I saw Nobu at Carnegie in Jan. 2023 where he played Kapustin’s entire Op. 40 set (along with some Ravel, Liszt’s Tarantella, Beethoven’s moonlight, and just the best set of encores)… still my favorite concert that I’ve witnessed (and I’ve seen Hamelin, Yunchan Lim, Kissin, and Bruce Liu live, to name a few). Nobu’s spirit just comes through so authentically and powerfully in his playing; the concert was a religious experience.

@@debrucey The preludes are great! But Nobu did play the Etudes, not preludes
I saw him play the full Op. 40 set at Carnegie at the start of 2023… he had clearly been “in the lab” with these etudes. It was by far the best performance of the work I’ve ever heard

I was there at this concert where he played Rach2, just incredible !
