Adding this to the comments. Hopefully it will filter to the top. This video is seriously incorrect. In order to install this stock you need to remove the rubber endplate which will reveal a hole into which you need to screw the stock onto the vent hole at the end of the buffer tube. Based on this video the stock is just hanging on the end of the buffer tube. This error is pointed out in comments below but the author never updated this video or added the description.

This video is super old and idk if your gonna reply but I have this exact gun and need to remove the lower tang so I can better fit the Thordsen FRS Gen 3 stock. The lower tang makes it uncomfortable to get a full grip on the stock/grip combo. It’s similar to a rifle stock instead of a pistol grip. Do you just recommend I use a dremel to cut it off and file it down smooth? I’m trying not to ruin the rifle and since I’m in California and the gun laws won’t change anytime soon, I won’t be needing the lower tang to reattach the OEM stock. Thanks for any advice. I also don’t have access to a vice or anything. I would have to hold it down and just go at it 😂

So looking at it, that seems to be your best option. My recommendation, if possible, would be to find someone who has a vice. Man I'm glad I found this- I had a customer bring in a a-103 model claiming it would fire a round and than click. So I took it apart, it was in fantastic shape. Scratched in serial so probably an early model. Immaculate condition. Firing pin looked good so I took it out and shot CCI SV and Eley Match. Had same issues as the customer. It would fire a round, go click, I'd eject, maybe it fired/maybe it didnt. I'm perplexed. I bought a "new" firing pin and spring guide and tried again. Same issue. So I have a question. Do they sell gas blocks for different diameter barrels? I got a bunch of random parts from a buddy of mine and the gas block obviously doesn’t fit, he said it was an a2 style gas block on it to begin with but I’m installing a low profile… except it’s at least a quarter inch too big. Just rattles around and the set screws only have hopes and dreams of holding it in place. Obviously this isn’t safe. Shouldn’t it just be a slip fit going over the gas ports? This is my first upper build so I’m quite clueless as to what exactly I’m doing. Any help would be appreciated

Sorry for the late response.. @@FEARPaintball Well that just sucks lol. Do have one question. I’m new to the AR game, and don’t know much about gassing, buffer weights, springs, all that jazz. I bought a .300 BLK Diamondback AR. So I built the 5.56 upper to go along with it, but the 5.56 seems to have quite a bit of felt recoil. Do you think changing springs would help this? Or would I just need to get a stock with a butt pad to help mitigate felt recoil?
@FEARPaintball
@FEARPaintball Жыл бұрын
@@trentmckenzie343 There’s actually a few variables that can be at play here. What’s the barrel length of your 300blk upper vs the 5.56 upper. Does the 300blk have an adjustable gas block vs the 5.56 one having a standard or visa versa. That ultimately plays into your buffer weight and spring.
