Great video. There are tons of videos on widening the Granite but this is the first one I have seen for lengthening it. It's good to know that the Senton chassis works for this. I wonder if the 3s Typhon chassis would work? Oh well great upgrade for sure. 👍👍

@@JohnHazenhousen typo on my part lol. Spinning and orbiting are happening simultaneously and yet for for the duration of the video, Polaris is fixed in the sky. We should see a spiral pattern not a fixed point with star rotating around it. Something isnt adding up
@JohnHazenhousen Жыл бұрын
@@christopherflom4879 It isn’t adding up because you’re bad at maths. The rotation in this video is over the course of a night; it’s due to Earth’s rotation on its own axis. Why on earth would you expect Earth’s movement around the Sun over the course of _a year_ to be seen in this video?

Great video! Loads of questions! How long was each photo (exposure time), How often did it take a photo, What was the power output on your power bank, what power was your power bank storage and finally how much power was left in the power bank at the end? I assume you removed the battery from the GoPro and ran it the whole time from the power bank?
@Ian-Hall Жыл бұрын
Cheers, I used the star trails function on the GoPro 11, 30 second exposure. I used a 6000 mah 3s Lipo battery plugged into a voltage recducer and then to the gopro to keep charge. 7 hours used around 3000 mah. I also put the lipo in a thermal bag as the temp was -2 Celsius. Hope this makes sense.
@dans.channel. Жыл бұрын
@@Ian-Hall no it doesn’t 😂 but I’ll google what a lipo battery is. I have a Hero 5, I unfortunately don’t have star trail function, but I know a way around it, I’ve seen photo’s made with a Hero 4.

The polaris will never move
@Ian-Hall Жыл бұрын
It does very slightly. Polaris is offset a little - by about 0.65 degrees - from celestial north. If you took its picture, you’d find that it makes its own little circle around the exact point of the north celestial pole.

He is a Central star
@usleratntop Жыл бұрын
@@donotreplydawgs not really a "Central star". It is closely aligned with the north pole of earth, so it appears to barely move as the earth rotates. If you were to travel 12,000 miles south and look towards the south pole, you would see stars orbiting around a point in the sky with no star, and they orbit in the opposite direction, which beautifully shows how a rotating sphere can alter your perspective.
