hey i have the same camera, when i install the film in and wind it with the grip.. it keeps advancing and doesn't stop. would you happen to know why? i went through 4 rolls of portra 800 already cause it just keeps advancing and not stopping at 1 on the back.
@paultaylorphotography94992 күн бұрын
Hey mate I've never had that issue here's what I looked up hope it helps. AI Overview If your Bronica ETRSi is not stopping at each frame, the most likely culprit is a faulty film advance mechanism within the camera, which could be caused by worn gears, a broken spring, or a problem with the film advance lever itself. Here are a few things to check: Film advance lever: Ensure the film advance lever is fully engaging and not slipping when you wind the film. Film back alignment: Double-check that the film back is properly attached and aligned within the camera body. Worn gears: If the camera has been used extensively, the gears responsible for film advancement might be worn, requiring potential repair by a camera technician. What to do: Clean the camera: Gently clean the film advance mechanism with a soft brush to remove any dust or debris that might be interfering with the gears. Check for damage: Inspect the film advance lever and mechanism for any visible signs of damage or wear. Professional repair: If cleaning and inspection reveal no obvious issues, it's highly recommended to take your Bronica ETRSi to a qualified camera repair technician to diagnose

The Rolie 35SE was my first 35mm film camera. It was called a pocket camera because with the lens retracted, it would fit in a pocket. Took great pictures, so simple, focus by depth of field. For close in pictures, you just walked off the distance and made sure it was in the middle of the focus range for that aputure. Simple led light meter in the view finder. It forced you to learn the relationship between film speed, shutter speed and light level.

you are right, that is a very HQ Leica II copy with real good coated lenses, still quite cheap to find in Czechia. Be sure the curtain is not burned from light...its the same problem with old Leicas. Be sure to get the version MEOPTA II and not I, only the II has the rangefinder that is the most accurate I have ever seen! The Meopta Belar lens is a licence made French SOM-BERTHIOT BELOR and a Belor is an enhanced very HQ TESSAR. The normal Tessar is called "FLOR" in France and Czechia. Its very interesting. French and Czechs had cooperation of lenses as well as Zeiss (some patent licences between those countries, because germans built TESSAR and SONNAR and BIOTAR (and military) lenses during WW2 in Czechia and France too at those factories. So they knew the blueprints. The french "FOCA 3 stars" version is a Leica 3 made by the french.

I don't know when a soft image was considered vintage all my film cameras were tack sharp. I have 60 year old slides that I took with the SR7 I had that are very sharp. It almost seems there is a nostalgia for something that didnt exist
@paultaylorphotography949919 күн бұрын
Yeah I hear ya but I didn't say the soft images were vintage I said I loved the look of the images that are not razor wire sharp as they are with today's sensors I did say I loved the look and feel of the vintage camera. There is some haze in my elmar so that adds to the softness also my use of the range finders needs work or maybe the RF needs calibration. I have images from my bronica RB67 ikonta m bessa ii and many more film cameras I've used since the late 70s that are sharp as tacks but again nowhere near today's sensors which does give film photos a definitely authentic nostalgic feel imho. Thanks for checking in appreciate it mate.

So far the AF is faster for sure. I like the silent shutter option it will be handy for shooting golf and weddings. So far I prefer the overall feel of the 1dx its built to survive I'm sure the R3 is too but I'm a tad heavy on my gear so will be interesting to see how it holds up. The extra frames per second will be awesome for shooting sports to get the exact right moment but it will mean I have to get used to faster selection on the field it's over double what the 1dx shoots. I still think the 1dx is an amazing camera for its age it's still massively impressive and I'm sure there will be some bargains out there. The R3 so far is mightily impressive too.
