ive followed this on my TX and still nothing works with telemetry....i think my tx must be faulty. i have had nothing but faults with my t18mz...two batteries failing and telemetry never worked....i am now changing over to radiomaster.

Hi daniel. I'm considering buying this radio but a bit nervous about transferring all data from 14sg to 18sz. I understand how to copy over models with sd card but will all my telemtry funtions work the same without any problems? I have 7 models. 6 of them are on faast and 1 on faastest. I understand i will have to relink all 7 receviers to new transmitter but is that it all? Will all data transfer i.e mixes/trims/telemtry etc. Anything else i need to know?
@DDugger
@DDugger 7 ай бұрын
Everything should transfer. Obviously, you will want to do a thorough pre-flight check with all your models, but yes, mixes and telemetry should all be there.

Thx for your help! I am using a 16iz to connect to an ikon fbl. Are there any external wires that I have to connect to the ikon to enable telemetry? Outside of the power and governor leads? I would like to ensure I am able to get MAH burned during each flight ..thx u again for this

@@andykular3756 Unfortunately, the old Tribunus ESCs do not support Futaba telemetry, only Tribunus II models will work. (Except for the Trib II 14-200A, you would have to have the Trib II+ model for that one 😒) As for the HW v4 you will need to run a cable from the programming port on the ESC to your FBL. ONLY connect the signal wire (should be either orange or white) to pin "5" (middle pin of the 4-5-6 socket on your iKon.)

Sorry I never saw your comment. I haven't used the 16IZ, so I can't be sure how similar the interface on the radio is, but all of the telemetry details should be the same.

Hello Daniel Thank you for the video can you please do a video on all the different types of futaba receivers and explain the difference between them as I have not been flying for about 10 plus years and it's all a bit confusing ... eg they never had sbus or telemetry back then can all the receivers do telemetry and what is sbus .. please note I only have the old 35mhz receivers ppm & pcm at the moment and I want to start flying again but I want to change all my radio gear over to 2.4Ghz all the best from Ian in England... stay safe 😷

i just build my synergy 516 and i followed the manual direction that the belt tensioner needs to be 90 degrees to the frame. but when i spool the heli, the belt squeaks and after 3 minutes the belt gets very hot. the belt tensioner temp was 118 degrees and the belt began to shed (powder) on the outside. when i give the belt some slack, every thing is fine, but now the tensioner is no longer at 90 degrees. i need help
@DDugger
@DDugger 5 жыл бұрын
May be a symptom of the tensioner pulley not being perfectly in line with the belt or a bad bearing in the tensioner pulley. I'd check those two things first.

Good evening. Excellent video, well explanatory. I bought a SBS-01G sensor, but when using it in my futaba 18sz only appears in Telemetry: Altitude and Variometer, is my sensor is defective or has some configuration that I may have forgotten.

Is that radio had voice alerts like in spektrum like hold mode idle's, timer ? And is there a big dissonanse beetwen MZ?
@DDugger
@DDugger 7 жыл бұрын
Maurycy Gratkiewicz it has voice alerts for telemetry but not for timers/switches/flight conditions. Same gimbals as 18mz, but much lighter (similar in size and weight to the 14sg). Software is different from the 18mz, but it's not missing anything useful for flying helis.

Jeti speech is much more realistic. it's sad you cannot even customize your own voice alerts. the 14SG has timer speech though.

Yeah, I think it's great. Good quality wheels and tires are a must, everything else is pretty much just if you want it. Install good high-torque servos, tighten up the servo saver, and getting a better radio will make it drive like a champ. Play with different weight differential oils to make it handle differently.
@DDugger
@DDugger 11 жыл бұрын
Heat cycle method. I add a tsp of Klotz Benol castor oil to a quart of my Werks nitro, and wrap the head with foil. Then with a very slightly rich setting run the engine up to 190 to 200°F for 3 minute intervals 5 times letting it cool between each run with piston at BDC. Then I drive it for 5 minute runs around 1/2 throttle with short full throttle bursts now and then letting it cool between each run at BDC. I push it a little bit more after each run until I have about 30 minutes run time on it
@DDugger
@DDugger 11 жыл бұрын
You might as well buy wheels and tires right off the bat, the stockers are pretty flimsy. Those and better servos are the biggest standout things for this kit. Aluminum washers for the wing from the MP9 are also worthwhile.
@DDugger

At the time I made this video I was using the stock clutch and gear ratio with lightened steel spur gear, 5k wt oil in front, 7k center, and 3k rear differentials. I have since installed a clocked Nova .28 with an Ofna 086 pipe, M2C clutch, 15T pinion, and added the extra spider gears in the differentials. It's a monster!

Yeah, the factory ones are crap. AKA wheels and tires are awesome. I've been running one set of IBeam soft tires for about two gallons and they still have lots of tread on them. The wheels are very strong - I broke a suspension arm and bent four pivot shafts and I haven't had a single problem with the wheels cracking. I'm pretty hard on them and haven't had any come unglued either. They have a tight bead design.
