First kit I can remember, more memorable than the team 😩🦅

Just to echo some of the comments, these have been hugely enjoyable to watch. A period of Palace history just slightly before my time so it’s been great viewing. Loving the current affairs and musical montages also. Bravo Sir, looking forward to the next instalment!

In the context of that era, the Shrewsbury crowd was a real surprise. As the afternoon wore on, the new faces around me on the terrace made it clear they should have found something better to do, such as weeding the garden.

Love the a-ha animated frames at the end. If only Bunty Bailey had attended the match.

The last five minutes against Oldham a turning point in Palace history. Five years after the downward trajectory set by the previous one - Clive Allen's goal that never was at Coventry.

The Chelsea friendly, only 2600 in attendance. I remember a thunderstorm during the match. The Chelsea (who had been given the Holmesdale) tried en masse to get in to the covered Arthur Wait during the storm, and were held back by about a dozen police and stewards.

He died at the same age as his father. Too bad people didn’t know back then that Peter Sellers probably had Bi-Polar Disorder and/or some other mental disorder.

all i can remember from that season was Paul Barron picking the ball out of the net, terrible goalkeeper( yeah he saved that pen V Everton) why Burridge was never picked i dont know, especially as Venables took him to QPR, so cant have been personal he wasnt picked.

I had heard of him , he was one of the best players in the second tier in the late 80s according to Painni stickers. And apparently a bit of dick according to Ian Wright.

It was different then. The bullying still goes on now but more psychological as it leaves no physical scars. It may have been different back then, and back then was my era as a young person, but it was still absolutely disgusting to treat ppl like that, and if you or anyone think it was ok back then to be treated like that. Then you are at the same level as J C, an absolute scum bag, because he is not owning up to it and repenting, like some perpetrators do.
@adamwade2054Ай бұрын
@@gaskellr44 no one said they agreed with it but you can’t change the past, I was in the military and bullying was rife but you had to man up and carve out a niche with your character. I watched wrighty bully salako in training but no one mentions that!
