you should have shown the puller being used, what size socket for the injector and fuel line nut, and after you pulled the injector you showed the ball bearing but what were you pointing at in the rusty hole? Please, if you are going to make videos put more detail in it. Thank you.

Good luck on challenging the marina and hopefully they will make it right financially somehow, but on the bright side no one was hurt and you got to continue on with your trip. Also, The way you handled yourself in that emergency situation was very professional and admirable, you were able to get your wife and your boat to safety and that’s very respectable, nicely done captain.

I live in NC and know those waters well. I have been in a similar situation before when we had a motor mount pull out and it pulled the exhaust manifold loose, leaving a 4" hole in the back of the boat......while navigating a rough inlet. We used a beer can wrapped with a T shirt to plug the hole while waiting for a tow. I was curious if you figured out what you hit? With the propeller pushing the boat I can't see how it pulled the shaft out unless you hit something submerged, and it jammed??? I thought it was interesting that the engine was still running, and it didn't stall when whatever happened. Happened. I worked as a boat mechanic for several years and I have never seen a shaft pull out, like yours did, but we didn't work on that many boats with V drives etc. I am glad you made it in safe with the wife and it was good to see that you both kept your minds clear, saving your lives. I am looking forward to following your channel and hopefully watching the rest of your voyage to Florida
@mvlivinthedream96017 ай бұрын
Thank you for the reply. We didn’t anything as far as I can tell. We were in mid channel with plenty of water. When we had the boat fixed we had a surveyor come down and he found the other shaft loose as well. I don’t think we will really know for sure but to me it felt like the engine went it to neutral at high rpm.

Now @12:22 am I looking at sheered off shaft still in place? OR by the looks of that horrible seizing job, Im assuming there was no divot / dimple for the set bolt and or the bolt was finger tight. Captains may also want to carry soft wooden tappered plugs. They come in a variety of sizes and can be purchased on line or at most marine stores. They work great for damage thru hull fittings too.
