I actually never thought this song was about Asuka actually. I thought it was about the whole idea of hedgehogs dilemma, not wanting to get too close to someone you love because you're afraid of getting hurt, but enraptured in them anyways...I always saw Ritsuko and Gendo considering the song comes right after her death, but also overall reflecting the themes of the movie and show.

some weird side effect from when I prepared the video way back when. All I can tell you is that the image actually has Rei, Asuka, AND Mari (from the rebuilds) in it. She is cut out but would be on the right side. Hopefully that helps your search.

Asuka haunts me, she didn’t deserve the hate, I think with the way they’re drawn people forget she’s 14.

People pin their trauma to the traumatized characters of the show and blame the characters for it. Asuka definitely deserves pity and not hatred. The only character who doesn't get a pass in my book is Shinji for failing to stand for something in the end, when it mattered the most. Though, as much as I hate Shinji, even I can see his tragedy.

I love this AMV. I've been into the Devil's Carnival in the last 2 years and it's a real struggle to find any amvs for it's music (even though it could fit well for a few).
