Am missing # 1 Son in this Charlie Chan first movie. (Keye Luke, also a renown artist. ) He was "son" to first "Charlie Chan," Warner Oland. Those two were the best, as well as the first for their roles. But all "Charlie Chan" movies are most enjoyable. Keye Luke played Kato in the movie episodes of "The Green Hornet" -- also a very good series, and other Asian roles. Oland and Luke take their rightful places in the second flick.

Victor Sen Yung played Jimmy Chan and he was Hop Sing on Bonanza. He was also in The Letter with Bette Davis. A GREAT film imo.

Nice one Billy, Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) is from my own city of Liverpool. I was at the grave of one of his family under the Cathedral on one of my recent videos. Love the old school Sherlocks. 🕵

Behind the Curtain! WHAT A GEM! Earl Derr Biggers script! Magnificently preserved and well designed film--scratchy audio is no problem! Exciting plot. Good acting. As Charlie Chan in later guises might say, "Thank you very much!"

I think the movie ads are really fun and add a lot to the Double Feature. Just wish I had a big dill pickle with the movie, like when I was a kid. Pickle for a nickel and 10cents for popcorn at the movie house when I was young..... Entry for daytime movies was $.25. More for ones at night.
@Billys-JointКүн бұрын
Yes. Now you need a municipal bond to pay for popcorn. hehe

Louise brookes was also in the silent controversial movie pandora's box! She eventually left the film industry because of personal and professional reasons! She eventually became a i guess you could say call girl/escort/prostitute! Mimicking her performance in pandora's box! Art imitating life or vice versa! Best to check either wikipedia or other sources for more information!

Philo Vance on Billy's joint brings movies and, cool times up to a whole nother level! ( The dame in this is not only cute but she can sing to! A win win)! And, it didn't have blurry sides! Just black on each side!

Thank you for the upload! In these old movies, everyone dressed to the nines. Even the bartender has a tie on. I love these old movies too, because the women always had hats on. If you saw someone today, wearing one of those kind of hats you would think something was wrong with her.! 😂😂

The way, the Canary’s ex-husband, the one who just got out of prison, speaks. He sounds like a robot. I wonder if if it’s acting improved as time went on. 😂😂😂. I decided to look up the actor who plays the Canary’s ex-husband and sounds like a robot. He has always sounded like that and deliberately too. Here’s what I found if anyone cares. “Ned Sparks (November 19, 1883 - April 3, 1957) was a Canadian-born character actor of the American stage and screen. He was known for his deadpan expression and comically nasal, monotone delivery”. 😅😂😂
