It's good to know what you will be trying to drive the sandpoint through. If the "PROBE" won't go down neither will the sandpoint.

The probe worked great in my sandy soil. Thanks for the video!

@@solaceworks a more comprehensive material list with all the sizes, dimensions, of pipes, their diameters e.t.c would be helpful, transferred from probe onto the pipe (How is this done?)Thank you for responding

Wow, moving it was a very hard work and costly. I have a feeling that it would have cost less to abandon it and build a fresh new one in the new location.

It wasn't just about the money although in the end I sold it on a new lot and put about $100,000 in my bank account. The alternative was to pay to knock it down because I wasn't going to leave it to the Native who owned the land.

I like your idea of washing the hole first. You can also wash a larger pipe (usually PVC) down to the aquifer then once in place, lowering a smaller pipe (1-1/4") with the screen on the bottom. Then pull the larger pipe back. Only problem I see with your installation was the maleable couplings. Beating on them can asily break them. Drive couplings or at least steel couplings should be used. And the pipe butted inside the couplings. This way you are beating on the two pipes touching inside the coplings rather than beating on the couplings threads.

Thanks for your comments. It's not possible to use a larger pipe especially pvc. The couplings are galvanized steel and will not break if tightened as much as is possible with pipe wrenches and pipe extensions for torque. An extra coupling and cap are used at top to be in contact with the air hammer as they will be damaged during installation.

Malleable fittings are different than steel fittings. The drive couplings I referred to are steel and are twice as thick and as tough as a standard coupling which is tougher than malleable. I am talking from experience as I have driven more 1-1/4" wells than I care to remember. We used a 60 or 80 lb hammer that had a stem that slid inside of the galvanized pipe and the hammer had handles on each side. Without the aid of the drive couplings, we would have never made it to water without first breaking something. If your method works, then that's great. I was just inserting my two cents worth.

Plenty of "new" ideas for driving a well. I have watched many well videos and yours is filled with good and new ideas. Thanks.
