Sarah lynn became more popular and powerful than bojack from her career, and she said the entire time she was planning on breaking her sobriety as she was only the sobriety to get a better high later, she had Vicodin cover Vicodin in the house and secret alcohol and drug stashes.

What i hated was when you can tell its not scripted anymore, bojack at first was just looking around acting like he was think about his words, 2nd one he goes for a joke, "guess im not a criminal mastermind" with a smile on his face looking directly at the camera when they're talking about a dead (supposed) friend of his & just makes a joke about it really showing even after her death that it was only about him
@ishkajules

I hate that smug look Bojack gives the camera as he says he's "not a criminal mastermind". His celebrating the first good interview, his eagerness to do another, basking in the attention, the fake house set, everything just drives home how truly selfish he is. He was starting to get better but that taste of fame dragged him right back into his old habits. He may care about other people in his way, he cared about Sarah Lynn, but in the end he only cares as long as it doesn't interfere with his real first priority - himself. That look at the camera, making a quip, while they're talking about Sarah Lynn's death. I'm so glad it was his own ego in taking a 2nd interview that was his downfall. God I love this show.

That part at 7:25 "I'm talking now, you're not talking." That was amazing! I love Biscuits and how she stands her ground against Bojack. She exposes him for who he truly is, regardless of his tragic past, and how he's hurt women. She may have indirectly helped Gina too (that billboard easter egg at the finale may signify Gina and Kelsey working together and helping each other get through their relationships with Bojack).

Now don't get me wrong, he 100% deserved this. But ,FUCK HE WAS ACTUALLY IMPROVING AS A PERSON! And this... not only undid all his progresses but also was the final push that made him attempt suicide. Like this was his best effort yet to become a truly good person. But he still needed to face some sort of justice for the fucked up shit he's done throughout his life. Only this show could do a "Hero's worst moment" and "Villain finally gets caught" at the same time.

The only thing I don't quite like about this scene is that they keep hammering home the point of "BoJack gave the sober Sarah Lynn drugs and alcohol and caused her to overdose and die," except that...this didn't happen. _Sarah Lynn_ was the one who supplied all the drugs and alcohol, not BoJack. In the original season 3 episode's cold open, she rips her calendar down to reveal a cabinet of alcohol, grabs and a bottle, and takes a swig, all before BoJack even says a second sentence over the phone. Then when BoJack actually gets there and offers to buy drugs, Sarah Lynn declines the offer and reveals she has drugs literally everywhere in her house, then it all spirals from there. It just feels like a retcon to make BoJack look more guilty, and damages the message that the scene was going for, at least for me. Am I misremembering something? Someone enlighten me.

Other characters won't know that, will they? From the perspective of the in-universe audience, that is exactly what happened - a woman 9 months into rehab went on a fatal bender at BoJack's behest, the man who may very well have started her down that path to addiction in the first place all those years ago. It isn't literally what happened, but what does that matter? She's dead, and BoJack was complicit. You can't call this 'retconning' if "Did you take a highschool girl to prom?" isn't as well, right? That is NOT all that happened, but almost nobody knows that in-universe. This interview isn't the writers' lampooning BoJack for the hell of it, they're showing a perspective that highlights the patterns in BoJack's behavior. It turns out that casting aside a lot of the excuses and explanations that might cloud our privileged perspective reveals the underlying pattern - that of a man who, consciously or not, uses and abuses those around him, especially women, and who cares more in the end about protecting himself than those that he supposedly loves. And aside from that point, Sarah Lynn practically just waiting for an excuse to dive back into her addicitons is how a lot of people's experience of sobriety goes. Some people never shake the desire, maybe even prepare for when they inevitably fail, but fight it anyway. The comedy show played it for laughs, yes, but the effects stand. Would this bender have happened anyway? Maybe (probably, even) - but how much longer would she have been able to be sober? And would she have even died if she did relapse, if she was with anyone but BoJack? I think it's a fair thought to have, but I think it's countered pretty well by the interview.

If I was bojack , I would say yes , you are saying some of my rock bottoms And I have said, how would it not be fair to The people affected to have those stories said. and I have apologized to them in private. Isn't just a calculated attack to bring out the A "real bojack, horseman That I am a deeply troubled and dangerous. Individuals that has hurt numerous people" Which I have and I accept, but you're also making it out as if I cannot change. As if I don't have a right to try and change that I should stay a terrible person because That's all I am and that's all I will ever be. I want to be better. This is me actively trying to be better. You knew bringing up all these things isn't just hurting me it's hurting Then, the people affected by these events, they're just stories. They're real people with real lives. And yes, you're bringing up These stories to make the point that they are real people, but they are still real people. That's what I'm saying that they still have trauma around these and hearing them on this show tonight only brings that pain back to the surfand might reverse how I've tried to fix the situation. I'm not saying I did a perfect job. I did the best I can and it has to come from me, because I'm the person that did it.When it comes from you it's just genius especially because you're just trying to boost ratings for your program You don't care about Then, because if you did you would ask them I'm trying to figure out plan and talk to me about how we can work together. Make things better if that requires me going to court and giving ever you think that I have over to them. Then I fucking will But I know in my heart That that is not what they want , because they have actively told me that they and I Quote they want to be left alone. When you drag me through the mud, you dragged them through the mud too. Because the mud that you're using is built upon the stories that they were a part of. You want to talk about how awful I am? Let's talk about how awful I am but Let's Not talk about them. They're the victim. I am the perpetrator and I know that they wouldn't be viewed as more than just a victim they are a person who just wants to get past it.
