I’m curious how HR and hiring managers view the PNPT, I don’t see and jobs listing it. I took the GRC and detection engineering course before and they were awesome for knowledge. Currently info sec analyst, I think I want to stay blue but I like learning what I’m defending against
@wiredogsec22 күн бұрын
It is still a relatively new certification. It’s only been around for a few years. I believe that they view the PNPT as an “equivalent or alternative” to OSCP and CEH. TCM Security has some great courses, which is a big reason why I like them. You should check out purple teaming. It’s a mixture of blue team (defensive) and red team (offensive). The PNPT is on some job listings (Indeed search). www.indeed.com/m/jobs?q=PNPT&l=&from=zrp-searchOnSerp&sameQ=1&vjk=f19711a4c970075f

The entry level cyber security job market hasn’t been good in a while. I recommend networking with others on LinkedIn and/or at conferences/events. I also recommend learning about how AI can be used to assist you with tasks. Don’t be afraid to start at the Helpdesk or another IT job. You can still gain experience and work your way out of that position and into a cyber security role. Check out these videos from TCM Security: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e37OdJZofs1ogM0si=Hk-p-mddia6099vY kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooi3oZqir9uLkMksi=pVvpp-CQkTfOqllH kzbin.infofSnueozhKCk?si=pfIHUcr0lEFJiOnw

@wiredogsec2 ай бұрын
I didn’t have extensive penetration testing experience, but I did fail the PNPT exam before I took this exam. I believe I took the PJPT, shortly after I had failed the PNPT. I recommend taking the exam right after completing the training. That way the material is still fresh in your head.

@wiredogsec2 ай бұрын
@@Kam30079 Questions are fine, no worries. What makes it worth it is if it applies to your career path. I don’t recommend getting a cert if you don’t think it can benefit you career-wise. You can fail the exam if you don’t accomplish these objectives: In order to receive the certification, a student must: Leverage their Active Directory exploitation skillsets to perform lateral and vertical network movements, and ultimately compromise the exam Domain Controller Provide a detailed, professionally written report. Just like in the real world, you can use the Internet. There aren’t any tool limitations, that I know of. Always check their official website for the latest developments.

I am a beginner.what is the difference b/w ejpt and pjpt
@soupsammichent2 ай бұрын
I believe that the PJPT is more practical and real world based, whereas the eJPT is more CTF-like. eJPT has been around longer, so it may be on more job posts, but IMO the PJPT will better prepare you for the job. PJPT requires the tester to submit a written report that is reviewed and is needed to pass the exam. It also focuses heavily on AD attacks that are commonly seen.

Thanks for the sub! It depends on your career path. eJPT has been around longer and is probably on more job postings, but PJPT is more practical. It teaches you about commonly used methods to attack AD infrastructure and you have to submit a report. IMO it is more realistic.
