@@rfoliente1 Thank You 🙏 The speaker cable conversation aside…I don’t feel the need for a sub for over 80% of the music I listen to. However, for complex classical and electronic music a properly integrated sub would benefit. Still working on the integration 😊

I did not feel the need for a sub? However due to complex impedence they present you will need an amp with plenty of drive and control to get the most out of them IME. The 10 inch woofers have plenty of grunt when driven properly.

I've tried this mic and overall I would say it is not bad but.... It doesn't pick up the bass properly - especially the low end but it also attenuates lower mid-bass as well... I think 135 degrees mode represents better soundstage in my room minus shortcomings I described above...
@DynamicAudio
@DynamicAudio 4 ай бұрын
Thank You 🙏 Interesting you mention that. I also found the bass is a smidgen leaner with this microphone...compared to the inbuilt iPhone microphone. However, the unintended consequence of this is that with large diaphragm headphones the shure MV88+ is able to keep the bass intact at loud listening levels. The iPhone recording can sometimes (depending on the track) saturate the headphone at louder volumes...hence the note in all of my videos to Adjust the volume 😊 The 90 degrees seems to capture the bass and the tonal density a bit better...whereas the 135 degrees captures the soundstage more accurately from the listening position.

Firstly the video was taken with an Iphone 13 - not professional recording equipment; and under show conditions. Also were you listening with headphones? And have you heard the Figaro Mk2 speakers in person, or only on YT? I was at this show and don't agree with your assessment. That said, personally I'd pair those speakers with a Vitus SIA-025Mk2 and either the SCD-025Mk2 or SD-025Mk2 dac for best synergy.

@@crazyprayingmantis5596 Show conditions are notoriously difficult, so you have to make allowances for that. Then it depends on the YT settings the poster used to upload the video. But to then attempt to accurately capture the sound of a room with an Iphone 13 is even more fraught. But even then all you're hearing is a good recording of system in a typically poor sounding hotel room. Exhibitors attempt to address the poor a/c power and room acoustics using a power conditioner or autoformer and room treatments, but the limitations of the rooms are largely out of their control.

Dipole-radiating speakers need to be brought well out into the room to get good soundstage depth, and ideally need an even front wall which is not possible in many real world situations. Re: this video, bare in mind you're listening to a recording taken on an Iphone 13 in a hotel room under show conditions. And this pair of speakers were literally uncrated at the show and were still running in.
