You make sense and your feelings are valid. I've gone through this too. My best advice is to get into a hobby and go to events where people that enjoy that hobby will be. Also, take things slow and enjoy spending time with multiple people instead of giving one or a handful the responsibility of your socialization. Make multiple acquaintances first! Then you'll have a roster to ask to hang out when you're feeling lonely. A language exchange may be a good place to start. Best of luck! 💙

that's some great advice, i'll keep it in mind. thanks for sharing! ❤️

Back to the U.S. after living in Korea almost a year now, and I can totally relate to everything you're saying in this video. All my friends are either (a) spread across the country or around the world or (b) married, with kids, or on their way there, so our friendships have definitely shifted. In Korea, it was way easier to make friends as an adult because we were all going through the same experience-teaching in a foreign country-and really leaned on each other. Now, it feels like I have to schedule friend time weeks in advance because everyone’s so busy with work. Plus, realizing you’ve maybe outgrown some friendships and having to start over making new ones is exhausting. Just wanted to let you know that you’re definitely not alone in how you're feeling!

I feel this so much! I've been a "floater friend" where I just bounce around from friendship groups to groups and I just never felt like I had friends with substance. And that's something I've been craving. Especially with feeling like I'm intruding in established friendships even though they like me, it feels wrong to me in a way and I always feel I'm left out. I'm left out of jokes, friend trips, etc so I want my "own friends". Over the past 3-4 years, I been trying to make friends and I am still missing the substance and still feel lonely. My good friend went back home to South Africa and we barely due to time zones. I'm 27 and I don't even have a best friend and it took a toll on me so my mom and coach told me to just take a break. Just know there's someone out there as well feeling the same way. Would love to be your internet friend 💗💗
