airdrop range is two, so Cyprus definitely- Suez n0, however you could get back on to Africa theoretically- Though you could consider taking the French Navy in the Med and using it to stage a naval invasion or go through Syria blah blah blah

how do you feel this compares to the older versions like calm before the storm and world at war? I have bounced around between all versions and the older ones seem to draw me in more, maybe because they are not as complicated? The maps also seem cleaner or easier on the eyes on the older ones, but that might just be me. Is combat mechanics better in one vs the other? You seem like an expert so thought to ask haha.

When it first came out, I was hesitant for a few reasons, including like you said the complication and the addition of many more features. The old map definitely pops more but the new map has grown on me. The combat mechanics are more in depth and more to calculate, plus you tend to have far more units all over the map due to more land regions. New or improved features like Airborne troops, mine laying, terrains attrition, regional defenses, war support, more in depth diplomacy comparatively, etc. There’s ultimately just a lot more going on in each region, city, etc. The AI could use some tuning, as even on the hardest difficulty the challenge could be increased to make world domination less likely. I grew up on the original games and I resisted switching for some time, but eventually I gave it a shot and fell in love. I’m sitting around 2600 hours of playtime and that will likely continue to go up! I couldn’t recommend it enough, especially if you enjoyed calm before the storm and world at war. Ultimately, I just love seeing more people play the games!

I did found the first gane as a kid aswell, never gave mk II a chance, after trying it im dying to try second world war cuz u can lend lease to seperatists who ae fighting the country u destabilize tru diplomacy.
