Since I moved into Freising a month and a half ago, I couldn't help but notice all the places named after St. Korbinian as well as all the bear statues everywhere. I wasn't sure they were related, but when I looked up the Freising Volksfest (people's party), which is still ongoing at the time of me writing this comment, I read that it was a commemoration of 1300 years of Korbinian in Freising. It's wild to me how a saint who visited a Bavarian town over a millennium ago left such a lasting legacy. Freising's very image is still vividly shaped by St. Korbinian. The monastery he built in Weihenstephan Abbey now houses the world's oldest brewery, and the town's universities even offer full programs in brewing science. And the Freising cathedral, the most recognizable icon of the city, currently holds his tomb.

People are looking for examples of holiness - holy people draw us to them bcs they reflect Jesus. That is why people are drawn to St. Charbel even apart from his healing abilities.

During Lent, monks gave up meat, bread and fish. To sustain them through the six weeks, the monastery brewery made a strong beer and the monks were each allocated eight pints a day. They probably didn't remember much of Lent.

The amount of miracles that St. charbel performed even after his death, reaching all the way to the united states speaks volumes how incredible and miraculous christianity is towards god. The saint that keeps on performing miracles to this very day. May god bless every soul on the right path.
