Thank you. Great video. There are so many options thx. Can't you also touch the linked file then TAB until it highlights what you want to turn off, override category, halftone, etc...? My Str Eng footing came in shaded black in the section and Footing in Phase 2 doesn't appear for some weird reason. I always love the challenge of Revit which allows everyone great ways to configure the model and drawings.

Hello, excellent video...I have a question, with the same criteria could you make a fish mouth in the pipe? It is similar to the exercise only that the fish mouth is a hole in the tube and another tube is welded there.

I don't see why not. If you can find or create that fitting, you should be able to use it just like the Weldolet.

I had to search the intersecting Chord Theorem to find what I was looking for. Just a tip for anybody else. It is used to solve radius and states: R = (1/2W*1/2W/Height of Arch + Height of Arch)/2

This would be a 'dumb' family. I imagine changing width or height would completely break the arch.

"when you do this to the model it's gonna be like whhaaaaat"! Great video! Thanks for the elaborate explanation! Stuff (ofcourse) still applies in revit2024

Thank you for saving my butt. I deleted a bunch of columns and a bridge crane last night, but I made like a hundred back up files. I brought all the columns and the crane in their own workplane, but I gave it a higher elevation in the model. Then I selected all the objects and changed their workplane. Last I deleted the workplane I pasted because it no longer had components associated with it.

Great video but how can I show "beyond" elements lines as halftone? My problem is I have a mezanine floor with a double heightI wanna show show the ffloor and its furniture below the mezanine as halftoned so they appear to be in alower level.. I tried underlay but he problem is they show the whole lower floor underlayed not just the area where there is a mezanine?
@CADuniversity
@CADuniversity 8 ай бұрын
Another option is to use underlay to show the information below. Then using the 'Line Work' tool, pick the lines you want to stay. Change them slightly using the Line Work tool and then turn off the underlay. The lines that were edited with the linework tool will remain.

That would be really helpful. Unfortunately it means the MEP engineer having to edit the Architect's model, which is far from ideal. Hopefully Autodesk will rethink this at some point.

Why does something so simple have ro be an ordeal with Revit? What we all are really looking for is Autocad's 'WBlock' equivalent & easy to understand Insertion Point. But Revit has to go out of it's way to wasye our time.
