So glad I'm not the only one who drinks coffee in the shower.

Dude, this video is DOPE! I love the rawness and candid insight into your hurdles because BOY HOWDY can I relate. As a musician, video, creative, underachieving 40-something, annoying dad type, I run the gambit insecurities, fear of judgment from everyone, and the constant fear that I'm both horrible as a guitarist, am wasting my time with music, and that if I stop, I'll go mad and die. It's totally cool. Also, many of your shots are artsy as F and I as a nerd, very much appreciate the creativity and artistic eye that went into all of this. Ok, I'm done.

👏About the shower part: hot water is very expensive in London. A bath with 3 hours of heating costs me £12 per day. 🙏

Wanna be an artist? Dont read the comments. But if you insist know that art is that which defies definition. Art is not what you think or believe its what you do. Dont compare yourself to other artists. Dont be so hard on yourself. Above all create create create and learn to ignore that negative voice living rent free in your head.

Lovely video! I genuinely just spent all morning today overthinking whether to use pthalo blue or cerulean blue for a new painting because I don'y want to regret it and then I watched this and I feel much better. Thanks!

wait until time AND space become an issue. Eventually we all end up living in museums of our own (which makes the urgency of making something 'good' or 'worthy of taking up space' fucking unbearable

Nice video, I would suggest doing a thinner layer on the base the day before, for a background, a lot of oil painting is about the layering of the paint, look at Michael Borremans paintings for an example of a nice washed background. Wish you the best with your artistic journey. Im in the same struggle :)

The thing many people overlook about the full-time professional artists you "feature" in this video is the privileged backgrounds many of those artists have. The reality is that they all have rich parents, and whether they could make a living from their art is actually irrelevant since the reality is that they could easily just live off their parent's money.

Let it all fall down Don’t look There in the valley of white Stands a village Pretty houses in time Chimney and smoke and mist And over there the tall mountain Ancient and strong Keeper of the forest Protector of all secrets All the beauty of the world The roads far and wide Passing me by Laid before me, for me Don’t touch Busied my days Building fortress and castle Strong and safe Do not wander, do not wonder I didn’t look, I didn’t touch Today I bury my failed life- Here lies he who never complained Never seen Never heard Today I bury my safety Today I fail on purpose And I will not don’t run and don’t fall And I will not don’t speak I will touch and I will look and I will laugh Today I trade consent For coincidences Today I shovel clouds in my window And forget about the snow Let it all fall down

there is an artist on youtube that i really like, Steven Zapata, who makes, in my opinion quite some helpful videos about the art process & spirituality. He also makes videos called "drawing meditations" that sort of help you with kick starting the process of image making. I love him and he has helped me so much with just having his streams in the background while working on paintings. He also talks about the spiritual side of art quite extensively , even though you said you are not that interested in this aspect. I love him, thought that it might be helpful by sharing even though some of his ideas are faaaar too out there😅😊
