If it's a separate magical world, how was Harry & Ron able to travel to Hogwarts on their own & without passing thru Platform 9¾?...

She is extremely inspiring. Im 33 now and in the same boat, sort of, only i moved from Ireland to Spain, i had to have some sun. I wonder, did her neighbours ever cheese her off?...Im sure i have lived next to some dementors!...it reminds me of the Demiugre and the Arkons, from Gnosticism. Anyway, im a painter, my work has improved a great deal here, but i could do with some more money...people want to learn English here but im pretty shy...so i might do something else. I remember being about 11 when Harry Potter came out...the scene that always stuck with me was his totally mundane life with this terrible strange family who dont understand him and the car comes out of the sky and off he goes, bye bye... i love that scene.

Im celebrating my 81st birthday this weekend. My heart goes back to watching my first HP movie. Thinking of waiting in line in black long robe and wide hat so many years ago. Twelve o'clock.. first performance of first Harry Potter. Mostly adults. All in costume and a midnight show. We all laughed and cheered together!

I’m so grateful for J.K. Rowling. She made a massively positive impact on not only my childhood, but me as a person. Her books continue to bring me peace, joy, and genuine life lessons even though I’ve read the books many times over.

On the documentary where the narrator reads the list that was in Chapter 5 of the book, the music that plays is The Sorcerer's Apprentice from Fantasia.

My older sister gave me Sorcerer's Stone (I wish it had stayed, "Philosopher's Stone") as a present, maybe a year after it had come out. I had heard about it, and thought, why bother, it can't be better than Tolkien. Years later, I may not have been camping out in front of Barnes and Noble, but I got there as soon as I could each summer the next book came out. And by book seven, I, even as a slow reader, was finishing these massive books over a weekend. I woke up, I read, I half paid attention to my meals, which my parents would remind me I needed, and I continued to read until it was time for bed, and then a bit longer because I was old enough to stay up a bit and not have someone necessarily check in. I am reading the books again just now as I am trying to write my own first book. I am early on in, "The Order of the Phoenix", and I cannot believe I forgot exactly how evil Dolores Jane Umbridge is, or how fantastic Dumbledor's Army is. I hope I can get someone to love and hate characters as strongly as J.K. has done for me.

What a wonderfully grounded and adroit person JK is. If you've written a novel or three or seven, you'll find a subtext and level of meaning here that is utterly invisible if you haven't. Thanks JK - owe you a sarsaparilla at Christmas.
