It will be surrounded by plastic fencing. However, our concern was people getting into the area where they might get hurt or damage some of the equipment.

Ellsworth's Know Nothing Party is who tarred and feathered John Babst in 1856. He was warned not to come back to Ellsworth and did anyway so they caught him on Water Street and attacked him. He was taken in for the night by Anne Jarvis, living on Bridge Hill across the river before she sent him home to Bangor on the train the next day. It was not the KKK in Brunswick. Hancock County did also have a considerable KKK following in the 1920s not mentioned here.

Three things to bring up: 1. Obviously, this outlet was only interested in the event because it offered a compelling news story, as well as to get their audience to feel and respond a certain way. If they really cared, they would've gone out of their way to hear the full story and actually listen to those they approached. 2. I was once a student at that school, and in either junior or senior year I witnessed a similar walkout, but I don't know if it was for the same reason or something else entirely. 3. Considering the rise of false rape accusations, it's impossible to confirm the validity of this allegation, which sadly invalidates those who actually have been sexually assaulted. If this actually happened, I completely understand that. Sadly, it could be anything from that to a guy who looked at a girl or said something to her that made her uncomfortable, to consensual sex and the girl deciding to call it rape once she regretted it, to even nothing having actually happened and the girl just was saying things to gain sympathy and privileges or just to cause an uproar - many people have been capable of that. It could be any of those possibilities.

We are a public access station and as such, were there to bring light to the event and the problem. We had no permission slips signed by parents to speak with students. If students wanted to create their own video speaking about the issues - which includes signed releases by parents, we would be happy to put that up on our station. If a Berwick resident wanted to borrow our equipment to create a video of this issue, we would provide the releases, camera, mics, and lighting for them to create their own video.

@@Berwick_Maine But you could've let them give legitimate responses without scripts and listened to every group without skipping them. I think you could've thought this through and presented it a whole lot differently.

Poor report. Doesn't address the length of time the complainants have lived by/next to the range. It was pointed out the range existed prior to any restrictions. If new neighbors (after the range opened) did not know there was a range in the neighborhood, that's on them and their realtor. Too bad so sad for them. Reminds me of the old saying, " if you don't want to listen to airplanes landing and taking off, don't move next door to the airport".

Does anyone else feel like this video is worthless?? The range was their first. The people who moved in should never dictate what goes on at the range.

This always happens when NEW property owners buy adjacent properties and don't like people shooting at the range that was already there before they showed up. We've fought the same problem over the last 37 years that I've been a share holder of our range here in up-state NY. Best of luck to you.

So the woman talking about her husband going to the range and measuring the berm admits to trespassing and if he came in from the back side subjected himself to the line of fire?

I have been to the rang with my dad. If I here a really fast shooting gun I would ask him if he could tell if it was automatic or not he has never confirmed it was automatic it was always a no or I do not think it's automatic. I have never been in a war zone and I have never been in the military but even I know that they are missing 99% of everything else that could make it seem like a warzone. I know Zack and I know if there was anyway to help with the noise, bullets leaving the range, etc, he would do it. If they put cameras at the rang they would get destroyed pretty fast (no one specific would destroy them), if they put a sign in and out sheet not everyone would actually sign it. People also shoot at there houses around that area too, so the bullets and stuff might not only be from the gun range. If you moved there after the gun range was already there don't complain. I feel that if the rang does do anything to help with this stuff and it coast $100 or more the town should pay for it.

The main thing is when one visits the range there's usually never more than maybe 5 or 6 people there unless an event us going on so the complaints if the amount of membership is moot, I visit the range frequently and never see more than just a few people such as you probably experienced as well

People complaining about a gun range that's been there long before they ever bought or built there around it, you have to love the anti crowds favorite power words, sounds like a war zone, assault weapons, high powered weapons and so on
