I just bought this bike and I love it. I never thought I would buy a Guzzi. The engine just wants to pull and it sounds like a bike should. My Tiger 1200 may have a bit more power, nicer brakes and suspension, as well it should considering the price, but I would still rather ride the Guzzi.

I once spoke to John McGuinness about this bike and Hizzys historic win, John had also ridden the bike on a parade lap, John looked at me and said I don't know how he did it, them lap times in 92 on that bike is just incredible, and that's coming from a 23 times TT winner.

17:50 Rocket 3 has more torque than Rocket III? Thought they have the same torque. Would also love to know how his bike makes 240hp with 7000rpm limit and standard exhaust, my Carpenter made 207 (crank) with 9000rpm limit and stock exhaust.

Good to see that you are still doing what you love Mike. As with any job, I'm sure there are some downsides (but not many). Epic test, good content, and well conveyed 👍 If you ever need to do a 90's sports bike test, I have one you might be interested in 😊 You know the bike, regards, Lez

I was watching on the course during that race. I think everything came together to win it. Luck, speed, handling (removing the front mudguard), the cooling and fueling made it to the end, and Hizzy. The owners of Norton at the time did not care for racing, or the bike, or the team. Its such a shame that was the case.

I listened to that race in 92 parked in a layby on the a55 north wales coast road, it was broadcast on am radio and i put my jump leads in my lorry onto my radio aerial and clipped them onto the armco barrier ! brilliant reception and what a race and piece of history it was,. Years later my mate and me went to a dealer near huddersfield to look at a second hand F1, i think it was £12 to £15k at the time (alot of money) anyway he bought it 1990 G reg i think, when he got it home i had a couple of rides on it and went well and handled brilliantly, he kept it for years,. probably made money on it when he finally sold it,.

I insist on a shaft drive bike for occasional off pavement riding, below 20k in price. Is there a better choice?

Lucky boy! Thanks for uploading this. I've just been reading the article about the Norton rotaries in your August edition, so to see and hear them again on screen is a real treat. I still remember watching the JPS Nortons doing demonstration laps in the company of a pair of, I think, Marlboro Yamaha 500s at Brands Hatch in (probably) 1990. The sheer speed and unique exhaust note was something to behold.

The problem with most of the bike press /magazines is they seem obsessed with bike racing or exotic and or expensive bikes I buy and read cover to cover Bike ,Ride ,MCN,Motorcycle Sport and Leisure every week /month and others occasionally but would really like to see more every day relevant articles and more about getting younger riders involved It's good to see Triumph enter the small bike sector and with the prices getting ever higher for bike kit and insurance not to mention the bikes themselves how are we going to get mire people into biking

My ride at low speed town traffic I found the engine rock made it feel like it was falling in on corners more than a boxter a couple of times it caught me almost out I never had this issue with any other, in winter I feel you may come a cropper if not careful

In today’s world bikes have quality suspensions that are controlled and dynamic. It comes from the need to be able to adjust to different conditions because it is demanded by the ride and rider. Especially with an adventure bike. While BMW, Honda, Triumph, Ducati lead the way moving forward and we have had dynamic suspension or semi-active suspensions since 2005. Moto Guzzi continues to come up short in their designs for a modern competitive open class motorcycle. Why spend the effort of designing a modern engine and stick it on a good frame and chassis but fail to provide a better than minimal grade suspension? It just doesn’t make any sense.

They failed when they built an Adventure Bike with a smaller fuel tank than the V85TT, which gets better fuel economy.

I can only recommend this bike to any tourer, so easy to ride, power is sufficiant and gas capacity is just good for shy 400 kms. I love it!
