Hey man. Great video. Black female from the GREAT OL USA. @ 14:12 “other/ fellow citizens of the USA” and in this particular subject, “POC (people of color)” do have a different experience with that for sure. Countrymen works tho LOL.

why are you obsessed with the golden visa... you should be obsessed about how and where you pay your taxes? imagine if everyone became a digital nomad and started living 1 month in a different city in europe... so bye bye and thank you

I thought about living in Cape Town but I don’t think I would be able to over look the disparity that exists there. I’m interested in Johannesburg but I’m concerned about the safety as a single woman.

I've lived in 5 different Canadian cities, and seen many many more, and Montreal is definately the best in almost every way. It's a world class city that towers over its rivals in terms of culture, sophistication, ambience and opportunities. Having said that it's likely better to visit than live in Quebec.

Not sure that people enjoying their drink is reason to label a city overrated. That sounds like a ‘you’ thing.

London being a city from the culture that ultimately my own (American) derives from, makes it arguably more interesting than any of the others. Well, makes England more interesting.
@mozar517520 сағат бұрын
You talk about the drinking culture in London and by the same token in the US. You are so right. You also say that you don’t drink. I am a 61 yo male, I grew up in that culture of drinking. Let me tell you that drinking alcohol is absolutely useless, you don’t need alcohol, it’s is terrible for the digestive system and the effect is worse as you age. Also, drinking is expensive. All you need to do is to take care of your health. You are also right about overrated places. I’ve been to a few of the cities you have described and I have been disappointed many times. Cancun has become such a lousy place with the people coming mostly from North America to party and bing drink, combined with the drug dealers to supply the drugs to the consumers. You may consider adding paris to your list of overrated cities.

I like all the places that you mentioned, especially if you wanna try great food (except London), in Singapore the best food cost 5-10 usd
@docmemphis2760Күн бұрын
1. There's nothings to see in london and everyone eats beans for breakfast 2. Fake garden city and the whitest asian country 3. If the Caribbean is cheaper every american would skip cancun 4. All the development turned it into a tourist trap island 5. Falsely advertised country for being cheap and adventure worthy

I've spent a quite a bit of time in London and I think getting out of the central area can change one's perspective, a bit. But I think the highlights are the main sites and cultural attractions, and the Theatre. And I think there are delicious restaurants with more normal prices (though not cheap) as well as some terrible, terrible food. So for tourists, I think it is a good starter place to go, and then connect to other places. Singapore, I think, after five visits, is just so limited. Bali was great both times I went, but it has been a long time and I could see these negative things expanding. Kuta is the worst, though, for the Aussies, and that has remained the same. And Lisbon was nice, but it was a while ago, before the huge run up in prices.

Thanks for sharing! What would be your recommendation in place of Bali? Island vacay? Agree with your take on Lisbon. Fun place but overrated and the food is not my favorite. The city really caters to tourists, and reminds me of what Prague was 25 years ago.
@nelsondesousa9304Күн бұрын
How is Lisboa overrated? Did you even bother getting into the history and culture? It is not Prague 25 years ago. What a nasty thing to say. You sound so ignorant.
@ms.schnapp7415Күн бұрын
@ The comparison to Prague was for the volume of tourism and the current state of being the “place to be” and certainly not for historical and cultural similarities.
@nelsondesousa9304Күн бұрын
@ none of which you explained. I bet you’re American and not used to fresh and healthy food hence your ridiculous comment!

I understand what you mean about London. It is a very expensive city, and this aspect cannot be overlooked when considering it as a destination. But I wouldn’t dismiss it because of its cultural familiarity. Going to places that are linked to your culture is part of a learning curve. Even a as seasoned traveller, discovering what’s different and what’s (sometimes surprisingly) familiar can be rewarding.

We were there for 3 months and hardly scratched the surface of Nice. We did not have a car and it was no problem, the trains are great and the local trams are easy and a wonderful way to get around. I prefer a pebble beach to a sand beach. The pebbles are warm, they contour to your body when you lay on the beach. Regarding the stores on Sunday, true, you must prepare the day before. It is a true walking city. you will walk several miles a day. There are many museums to visit and always go to Cours Selaya in the morning for your days food. It is closed on Monday, when it becomes an antique faire.

If you want a cultural experience in Quintana Roo ...go to Merida. When we traveled there prior to covid it was rated as the safest city in North America with a population over 500,000. With easy access to many Mayan ruins and culturally significant sites

Agree with your view on London. It feels like a huge outdoor mall. It's nice but i feel like its not a great tourist destination, it would be awesome to live there if it fits the budget.

It's not just a Summer thing, people jog in the winter. On weekends in winter I see people with their ice skating gear walking to the lakes to go skate. I am new to Sweden myself. Since you've been to Stockholm in summer, imagine the reverse, sun for like 4 hours at peak winter.

I was in Nice in August and loved it. My son and I went to several towns on the Riviera. My dad lives in Cannes, and I can see why he calls the area home. Eze was probably my favorite. The gardens, succulents, are stunning!! (The view’s not bad either!)

I’ve been 3 times this year for work and really love the eastern side of the mountain. It’s more suburban, but is extremely safe, has some great walks/hikes, restaurants, and is an easy ride to the city and Kalk Bay / Muizenberg Beach. Also you can get some great meals at the wine farms in Constantia.

I'm curious to know what brought you to Istanbul. My wife is from Istanbul. We lived in Kucuk Bebek for two years while I was a teacher in the 90s. Your observations were accurate and fair. I have strong ties to Istanbul and Turkey, as I have been traveling there for 4 decades. Over the decades, I have seen most parts of Turkey. I encourage you to see as much of Turkey as you can. The people are lovely and very hospitable. My family was initially leery of an American marrying their girl, thinking I would be like a character in Dallas. Ha! Ha! They soon learned this midwestern boy was ok. You mentioned the ferry across the Bosphorus. I used to tell my friends I would have breakfast in Europe, then hop over to Asia for lunch with the family and back home for dinner in Europe. I love the country, Istanbul, and the people. Cheers... Jim Amca 🙂

The metro is great and an affordable option but I'd probably recommend Bolt/Uber since you're short on time. You'll probably save yourself close to an hour by getting dropped exactly where you're planning to go (hope that makes sense). Thanks for watching and have a great visit!
