Keeping the chin-ball on the bull is the problem. Some bulls seem to know how to take it off.

Of course the beef cross will make money,there worth gold. Here in Australia they fetch huge prices. The heifers rear great dealers because they have plenty of milk from the Freisan. The steers fetch good prices , where as Freisan steers have to be kept about 2 and half years and only go to the US burger market.

Can I 'select cows for culling' on the app so they don't show up in breeding figures?

Hi Kevin, thanks for your query. Cows for culling are included in the breeding figures in FarmOps today. This is so you have an accurate estimate of how many empty cows you have on farm. Knowing this is critical for deciding when to stop AI and let out the stock bull. In our experience, farmers underestimate how many empty cows that are on farm as breeding progresses. With FarmOps, you'll be able to see how many empty cows you have during the breeding season, including cull cows. This allows you make that key decision of when to let the bull out with greater accuracy. One mature stock bull can only manage about 20 empty cows, regardless of whether they are for culling or not. We recommend you keep an eye on the Stock Bulls required number in FarmOps, and when this matches the number of bulls you have on-farm, you're on-track for letting the bulls out.
