Are the next videos (parts 4/5) in this series available somewhere? I don't see them in the list. Thanks! :)

Sadly only the first three videos in this series are available, but if you you can find some additional sketchalong videos in this playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PL9mDSSqU09QA2h2RNs6eC06oExPoGYBt1 and you can find our newest drawing courses here: www.illustratedstyleschool.com/store I hope that helps!

Thanks for this video. I am still trying to understand how I draw a pattern on my body to understand the fit. For this one you draw the waist of the pattern at your waist. But if I am high waisted in my body, then how do I know where the Zadie jumpsuit might fall. Which is why I have not made it. I think I would need to raise the waist for it to fit me well and look good. Can you comment on how you draw knowing differences in patterns and body shapes?

Great question! When you sketch on your MyBodyModel, I suggest drawing the pattern the way that you *want* it to fit, and also write down any notes about modifications that you may need to make to the pattern to make it fit the way you'd like. So if you want the pattern waist to fit at your waist, then you would draw the waist ties at the waist marking (cross hashmark) on your croquis, but write a note to yourself that you may need to shorten the bodice (and perhaps lengthen the rise?). If you're not sure exactly where you want the waist ties to land, you can try drawing it a few different ways, for example draw one version with the waist at the natural/high waist, and another version with the waist ties lower down closer to where your belly button would be, and compare them side by side to make your decision. The 3-models page in your MyBodyModel Project Planner is a good one for comparing different versions side by side! I hope this information is helpful and that you end up designing and making a Zadie jumpsuit that you love!! -Erica

What is that pen? It’s not the standard Frixeon ball point? Looks like a fine tip sharpie.

Thanks so much for your demo. I'm new to My Body Model and love hearing how you think about sketching the garment details. Is the top a hack of the Upton dress? I see no one has come up with an answer to your question!

I love to see but often struggle to visualize how the garment will look “on me”. I’m hoping that sketching out projects first will help me feel more satisfied overall as I’ll be able to spot proportion and design issues before I begin 😊

Great video! So much fun. If you hate your make, don't try on a dress with socks! It will make you hate it! Put on the shoes!

How do you make the jacket paper doll piece so that the left and right sides keep together? I couldn't figure out how you did it while allowing the blouse to show through the middle.

Hi Caroline, great question. When I cut out the paper doll jackets, I left a part of the neck, where the collar goes around the neck, to keep the pieces together. It's not a perfect solution but it works!

Hi Maggie, thank you for letting me know about this issue! I’m not sure why the captioning would be in Spanish. I will look into how to fix it and hope to have this resolved soon. Thanks again for letting me know.

Hi Maggie, I'm very sorry to say that there seems to be a glitch that is causing the subtitles to be generated in Spanish in this video. I am reaching out to KZbin and will let you know if they are able to fix it. The good news is, the captioning in all the other videos is in English! If you start with part 2 you should still be able to draw along, as I go over each step in detail. Thanks again. -Erica

Doing Seamwork DYW for Fall/Winter 2020 and so glad they partnered with My Body Model. Like most women, my body is a story unto itself and fitting is pretty tricky. Using my personal body model and sketching the patterns I think I want to use on it makes it so much easier to pick the right style and fit. Thanks for this!

Love it! I just listened to your interview at Love to Sew. I have been dreaming about sewing, bought some supplies and a pattern, but I have never sewed a garment. I asked myself: do I need a croqui? For what? This video illustrated that I may not need a croqui but I would love to have one now LOL Please, create more videos like this one!

This just sounds like too much fun! I have to wait a bit before purchasing so I'm looking forward to it. I did a preview body model and have to say, it worked great - I have been using another program to map my measurements, so i have my measurements down pat =) You know what else would be fun, is to make a stamp of my body image and use that in my journals...I could even make a paper doll...Hmmm must see to that after I purchase the initial model. Great idea and I'm looking forward to the fun.

@@MyBodyModel Oh how fun! I made a paper doll of myself as a kid and then "played" with it forever-still have it, too. My idea of a great time so I can't wait. I am subscribed, so I'll look for it.

Wish I would have seen these and drawn the patterns out before I made the so far two disastrous projects this summer. Better to see what is flattering or not on paper than in cloth.

This was so interesting. I never thought about how the neckline wraps around the neck. It’s obvious now but not something I would have known to consider. Totally unrelated question: what is the name of your nail polish? I live that color!
