for those who have no idea. Fodder is the word for cheap cattle and horse feed, just grass and wild seeds found on the ground. As cheap as cheap can be. Cannon fodder is the same idea, Cheapest crap you can "feed" to a cannon's shell hoping its cheaper than the cost of the enemies ammo.
