Do you use all lake country replicas? I ordered one but it was 10 week wait! Ordered another from Mackenzie and it was 4. Thanks man
@A-MTaxidermyStudio14 сағат бұрын
Yessir, I use lake county almost exclusively, their quality is incredible. You can make them all look nice depending on the amount of carving and sculpting you are willing to do to it but I prefer to have a quality form to start with, can put more time and effort into paint/finishing that way! I have a new video coming out soon and I used a starfish reproduction. I recommend lake county but starfish is my second choice, but if I need something fast I’ll go through McKenzie or Matuska, I look at it like this, the more time they spend making it look good the less time you’ll have to spend making it look good!

Looks great, getting into fish reproductions. Why do you steel whool between layers? Just dull it down a bit? And do you clear between layers. Thanks man.
@A-MTaxidermyStudio4 күн бұрын
I use steel wool to knock down the high spots and give it more definition and depth, and I clear between every coat just so when I steel wool the next coat the layer before that doesn’t get scrubbed away with it
